WHO WE ARE In 2004, the City of Greater Sudbury and the Sudbury & District Health Unit endorsed the City of Greater Sudbury Food Charter. The Food Charter, was initiated by the Food Security Network (no longer active), and describes how Sudbury will become a food friendly community through research, policies and programs that endorse: 1) Population Health and Wellness; 2) Community Development; 3) Investment in the Regional Food system; and 4) The Development of a Sustainable Food System. In 2013, the Greater Sudbury Food Policy (GSFPC) formed to assist in moving the Food Charter forward.
