FAQs for resellers

Why should I sell phones, and Lumia specifically?

Firstly, because you can! The whole Lumia range is open to every Ingram Micro reseller. The Nokia Lumia and Mobile Phone range is the #2 brand (measured by volume of units) in the Australian unlocked phone market, a segment that accounts for 20% of all sales and grew an astonishing 67% year-on-year according to GFK.

Lumia is Microsoft’s 1st party range of smartphones and the most seamless delivery of Microsoft services to mobile. Lumia brings to life incredible services such as OneDrive, OneNote, Office, Skype and over 300,000 3rd party apps.

As other hardware categories have reached their peak and margins have declined, the Australian phone market continues to grow and can provide incremental revenue and margin to your business.

Where do I buy Lumia from and who do I talk to?

Ingram Micro is Microsoft Mobile’s distributor of choice for all commercial sales. The team will be happy to help with any enquiries:

What do I do if a Lumia phone needs to be fixed?

Microsoft Mobile has a simple after-sales care process. Customers can book in any repair jobs by going to Nokia Care Direct and free-shipping their phone via any one of 4000+ Australia Post outlets.

Alternatively you as a reseller can have your own account with Nokia Care and manage the after-sales care on behalf of your customer*.

* See appendix ‘After-Sales Care’ for more details

Where do I get expert advice?

Microsoft Mobile has a wealth of resources that can help you and your customer with simple things like how to turn on a phone through to more advanced topics like how to set up mobile device management and connect to corporate Wi-Fi

* See appendix ‘Sales Support’ for more details

How can I compete with retail pricing?

‘Unlocked’ phones (phones without a 12/24 month contract or prepaid and locked to only one network) is the fastest growing segment of the Australian market, with an increasing number of consumers and businesses buying a device when they want one, rather than when their telco provider tells them they can have one.

You can procure Lumia easily through Ingram Micro’s Techlinkwebsite, and take advantage of Ingram’s competitive pricing
