Christmas Tree Card –

Instructions

You will need: - (items marked * are in your craft kit/card pack)- Pencil (with a round barrel, rather than angled/hexagonal. Alternatively use a

knitting needle or similar) Ruler/Scissors suitable for paper *Adhesive (E.G PVA or any sort of paper glue, or very narrow double-sided tape) *Foam tape (or foam squares) *Small amount each of three different papers - one should be sparkly or shiny

(well, it is Christmas!), but the others can be just general patterns, they don’t need to be Christmas-specific, but they do need to look nice together. I often use wrapping paper.

*Small piece of card - approx. 10 x 12cms *Star for the top of the tree *Snowflakes to decorate the card *5x7 card blank *Silver card (small piece)

1- Using the small (10 x 12) piece of card, draw and cut out a triangle with a base of 9.5cm, and a central rise of 11.5cm. (If you have a card pack, I’ll have included one of these, although if it still has pencil lines on it, you will need to cut along the lines to get the right size.)

2- Take the sparkly/glittery paper, cut 6 rectangles with the following cm measurements: -

9.5x6, 8x6, 6.5x6, 5x6, 3.5x6, 2x6. (If you have a craft kit/card pack, the silver paper is wrapping paper and can be really difficult to cut square/regular corners, so I’ve drawn the rectangles on for you, and they just need cutting out).

3- Take one rectangle, place it so that the 6cm side is to the left and right, and the 9.5, 8, 6.5, 5, 3.5, or 2cm sides are at the top and bottom. Take particular care with the 6.5 x 6 cm piece as it’s easy to turn this the wrong way. Place the pencil from left to right across the rectangle and start to roll it round the barrel of the pencil, to make a tube. Hold it tightly, then add a little glue to the edge,
