Annual Hand Hygiene Course

Go to the main page of intranet http://chdintra.cdha.nshealth.ca/ In the right hand column under Quick Links click on LMS

You will then proceed to the following page: Click the LMS Icon ( in purple ) at right hand side of page

Once you have clicked the LMS button, you will then proceed to the sign in page. Click on Sign In , in the top right corner or on the page as indicated below

You will then proceed with signing in. Please enter your username and password to sign in:

Username : Employee # (found on paystub) Password : Employee # Then click the sign in button below

You will then proceed to the following page, on this page click the catalogue button to select the Hand Hygiene course

You will then go to the following page, type the words Hand Hygiene in the keywords box. Then click GO. Once you click Go, the Hand Hygiene course will appear below. (*Please note some courses are classroom and some are online.)

Once the course appears, click on the Select this item button

In next screen click Add to my Learning button.

Next a screen will pop up called Add to My Courses, click on Add this course to my courses

It will then go to the following screen where you click Take Course Now

Then the next screen will appear – Click Start this Course Now

Once clicked the next screen appears Click- Start this objective Now

You will now go to the following screen Click – Click here to view the course material

You will then be directed to the Canadian Patient Safety Institute site to proceed with your course. On this page fill in the following

First Name : Last Name : E-mail Address: use your CDHA e-mail

For the following boxes below use the drop down box to the right hand side to select

Organization’s Province : Nova Scotia Region : Click Capital Health Organization : Click the site you work at VG, QEII, Twin Oakes etc. Profession : Choose the field you work in i.e. Nursing, Clinical,

Volunteer etc. Specialty : This is the job you do Nurse, Administrative Assistant etc.

Then click SUBMIT

You will proceed to the following page. Click the My Education button

Click Take this Course (Please note one course is French, the other English.)

Now Click Start Course and proceed with the course.

At the end of the course you may print a certificate off, showing your completion of the yearly mandatory Hand Hygiene Course
