The PowerPoint Pages

• List and links for the PowerPoints and

Handouts used in class for the month.

• Use these to see what you missed or to review

what you didn’t understand.

The What Are We Doing? Pages

• Daily summary of what we did in class for each

day of school.

• It includes notices about upcoming assessments as

well as homework assignments.

The Student Pages

• Each student has his or her own page.

• Students will post the final versions of

their writing and technology based

assignments on their page.

How to Sign In to My Wiki Page•Use your Holt (my.hrw.com)

username•Use your Holt password BUT you must add a “1” to the end of your

current password

Click on the sign in “button”

Enter your Holt username and

password

•Find your class period

•Find your name

Locate the “Edit This Page” Tab

•Examine the toolbar that appears at the top of the screen

•Locate the “File” Icon on the toolbar

Locate the “+ Upload Files” button

Files that have already been uploaded are

visible on the left of the screen

Click “Upload” to download the selected file

You may have to use the “Browse”

button to locate the file

Find the “Location” drop down box

Locate the Video [V:] Drive

That is our Shared folder

Locate the Student folder

Locate the Student folder

Open the “Abbott” folder to see the class and directions folders

Find YOUR file and “click” it

Highlight the file you have selected from the V: driveWAIT for the file to completely download!!!

•A new “box” will appear on your page

•Place it where it needs to be

The “box” should have the name of the file you selected

from the V:// drive

If it is NOT the file you want, you can remove it easily by selecting the box

Right click on the box to bring up the option menu and select “remove”

The “box” will disappear, but you will

have to remove any text you have added

•Be careful whenever you add or remove any files

•Your page can be edited, but some changes are more difficult to repair

•Be sure to add a description of the file so others will know what

is there

•Click “Save” to save all of the changes you make to your page

•Once you save there will be a notice on the top of your page

•Your changes are NOT complete until that notice appears!!!

•Your work belongs to you and no one else

•Part of using technology is knowing and following the rules

• If your page is misused or changed, let me know and I can locate the

offender

•We will continue to add various media to your pages throughout the year.

•Many of our assignments will be

posted and shared for others to see, so always do your best.

•Remember to use the Computer Lab on Tuesday afternoon or make

arrangements to stay with me on another day.

Throughout the year you will be able to develop your own wiki page.

There are many sections created to help you be successful in my class.
