I cannot wait another minute to offer my most sincere words of appreciation for the dedication and hard work that our volunteers, both adults and teens, have invested in recent weeks! The Campus Appreciation and the Car Show and Bazaar were massive projects that required an unbelievable level of energy, time, and sweat! Watching the teams work together was, in itself, a reward! I believe that the true expression of LOVE is in actions, not words. TCS is surely feeling the love this month! Thank you…Thank You…THANK YOU!! Most jobs offer immediate satisfaction with a one-time opportunity for encounters. In many cases, careers such as accounting and medicine may have opportunities to develop rewarding long term relationships with their clients. However, teachers have a unique benefit. They interact with a person during their developmental stages. Teachers rarely see the life-long impact of their job on a student. We all have our favorite teachers who did not have a clue about the significant role they played in our lives. However, occasionally we teachers are able to follow our students beyond the classroom…beyond graduation…and into their lives as adults! Joe and I have been multiply blessed in that arena. We have attended weddings, baptisms, and celebrated promotions with many of our alumni families. Perhaps because our school setting encourages partnerships, our staff and families build bonds that can exist beyond the teenage years. Perhaps because our families come to us when their teen is vulnerable, we are able to establish a trust that extends beyond the classroom and academic assignments. The relationships resemble those that used to exist between parent and teacher when the school was an integral part of the community and teachers lived their lives beside students and families. Joe attended school in the same town all his life and his siblings followed him from school to school and teacher to teacher. The neighborhood knew the Digieso family and that knowledge provided a certain amount of confidence and affection. Last week Joe and I attended a wedding of one of our graduates who captured our hearts the moment he entered TCS. (Of course, you realize all of our students fall in that category!) We were privileged to see his growth as a student and as a young man! Our association with his parents has developed into a partnership that has lasted for over ten years! His father, Wally, is the Vice President of our Board of Directors and his mother, Janet, has magnificently managed Glitter event after Glitter event. Kyle has come back to campus over the years to touch base, tell us about his new jobs and introduced us to his adorable fiancé at last year’s Glitter. When we received the invitation to this very special life event, we were honored and thrilled. An immense pride and affection takes over when we are able to be a small part of their happiness and success long after our students have left our campus. The transformation is complete…The weight of adolescence has slipped away, replaced by an air of confidence, maturity and success. We love that our students come to us with an unfinished story. We love that we are able to join them in writing their future. We love that we can check in occasionally as the chapters unfold. How blessed are we?

PAC SOCIAL EVENTS
Are you coming to the Parent Social on November
6? RSVP and say yes! The social will be at The
Rappoport home, 6740 Castleton Drive in Sandy
Springs. Drop by anytime from 6-7:30pm. Even if you
don’t live in this area, consider coming by on your way
home from work. Enjoy some appetizers and a glass of
wine in a relaxed atmosphere. This is a great way to meet other parents and
staff. Please RSVP to [email protected] today.
Because of the long weekend for students, we will not have a Student Social at
Top Golf on November 3. We will try this idea again in the future. We hope
you will join us.
Don’t forget the general PAC meeting on Friday, November 7 at 8am
in the Media Center. Come hear what is going on at TCS and how you
can be involved!

TAE KWON DO

While developing their martial arts skills, students will also enhance their concentration, self-esteem, strength, flexibility,
coordination, and general physical fitness level. Weekly training will be interspersed with a variety of activities to
