We are now accepting new clients to our clinic!

Who is eligible?

Registered Indians of all ages are welcome to receive Dental Hygiene (DH) services. All that is required is the participants registered status number by which your DH can access his/her Non-Insured Health Benefits.

Services available:

Oral Examination & Assessment Scaling (cleaning) Stain removal/Polishing Pit and Fissure Sealants Desensitization Fluoride Application Oral Hygiene Instruction

Dental Hygiene services can be accessed at Fort William First Nation’s Health Centre within the Anishinabek Dental Hygiene Clinic.

Youth and Social Development invite families to our

Children’s Christmas Party

Saturday, December 12th, 2015

Location: Community Center (Bingo Hall)

Time: 12:00p.m.-3:00p.m.

Babies to 17yrs!!

Activities 12 Stations of interactive activities that include sing along, crafts, clowns, cookie decorating, photo booth, and many more fun

filled things to do!!

Please remember that we want to ensure safety for everyone at this event so we are asking children 12 and under be supervised and accompanied by their parents, guardians…..if you can’t make it to this fun event with your child…please ensure a grown-up 18+ will accompany them.

A time for women to come together to honour Grandmother Moon and ourselves; to pray for renewed strength, guidance, and direction in our lives; to pray for all of our families, our communities, and whatever else we may be having difficulty with, in our lives.

Just a friendly reminder to the community that the Medical Van will not be available during Christmas Holidays

as the office is closed. The Medical Van will resume on January 4th 2015.

AFTERHOURS TAXI SLIPS

Taxi slips will only be issued to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with return trip.

Those accessing this service are required to provide documentation that they attended the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and were seen by the attending physic ian. This documentation must be provided within

24 hours.

NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER DEC.30TH!!!! Parents please keep in mind that we will need your full cooperation with fundraising events and getting

children to practices. This is necessary for the kids to have the best success with their teams. Please keep in mind we will be asking you to provide some donations via time or baking to help offset the costs of the trip.

the help we can get to make this year’s trip a success!

REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

LOCATION: Union of Ontario Indians Fort William First Nation Office Fort William First Nation, Thunder Bay, ON Purpose: Under the direction and supervision of the Ratification Communications Coordinator, the Regional Communications Coordinator is responsible for building eligible voter awareness and knowledge of the Anishinabek Nation Education Agreement (the “ANEA”), the Education Fiscal Transfer Agreement (the EFTA”) and the Education Implementation Plan (the “EIP”). Duties and Responsibilities (includes but not limited to): Coordinating and Supporting Regional Communications Teams by:

• Implementing education ratification communications in assigned region(s) and as part of the overall ROJ ratification communications team;

• Implementing the governance negotiations communications to ensure programs complement each other;

• Ensuring each eligible voter is mailed an information kit; • Assisting in arranging regional meetings, on-Reserve and off-Reserve meetings

including general community meetings and meetings with specific First Nations Groups (Elders/Seniors groups, Youth groups, Parents groups, Educations Councils, Chief and Council, and other community groups);

• Arranging for meetings in each participating First Nation and in off-Reserve locations;

• Communicating with all participating First Nations and off-Reserve third party participating organizations;

• Communicating with all eligible voters; • Assisting with the training and guidance for Regional Communications Teams; • Coordinating the Regional Communications Teams; • Scheduling and coordinating regional communications and work plans, one for

each Regional Education Council.

Coordinating and Supporting Restoration of Jurisdiction activities and initiatives by:

• Researching, developing and implementing marketing communications plans for ROJ department initiatives;

• Developing and producing promotional items; • Administering and supporting community outreach activities (such as

coordinating speaking engagements, customizing presentations, and fulfilling information and education materials orders);

• General departmental communications, administration and project management support for ROJ department (including; general logistics support, project management, document and materials editing and development.);

• Managing logistics of engagement activities such as "call to action" events, community consultations, and outreach initiatives;

• Supporting departmental research including; compilation of relevant information to support ROJ activities;

• Managing and coordinating communications and program databases; • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum education required is Post-secondary graduate in Business Administration and/or Marketing

• Must have excellent relationship management and communication skills • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment • Minimum Experience Required is 2-3 years related experience, including in

leading and facilitating teams or groups • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills • Excellent research and organizational skills essential • Computer software skills required (Microsoft Office) • Other skills and requirements include:

o Must be competent with the English language, in both written and verbal form

o Knowledge/awareness of Anishinabek language(s) and culture is required o Travel out of town and working irregular hours is required, with an ability

to work extended hours on occasion when required

Accountability: This position reports to and works under the direction of the Ratification Communications Coordinator. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and work experience Deadline for Applications: Monday, December 14, 2015 @ 4:30 pm

St. Anne's Church would like to thank everyone who participated and supported our Annual fundraiser.
