Mother’s Day As you begin your worship, you are invited to study the bulletin for persons and activities to include in your silent prayers of intercession and thanksgiving.

Remember the volunteers and staff members who make our corporate action possible: ushers, acolytes, custodial and support staff, musicians, clergy, and yourself, so that in our common worship, God may be glorified.

Prelude Greeting Chiming the Hour Voluntary Prelude and Fugue in F Bach Vance Jenkins, organ We ask for your prayerful silence during the Voluntary as you prepare your hearts for worship. *Processional Hymn Maker, in Whom We Live UMH 88 The cross symbolizes the Gospel message, Christ crucified and risen. Fire and light are Biblical symbols for the presence of God, here present with his people. *Collect of the Day Rev. Roy Mitchell O God, whose Son Jesus is the good shepherd of your people: Grant that when we hear his voice we may know him who calls us each by name, and follow where he leads; who, with you and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. *Psalter Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. The Lord makes me lie down in green pastures, leads me beside still waters, restores my life, leads me in right paths for the sake of the Lord’s name. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord as long as I live. *Gloria Patri UMH 71First Lesson Revelation 7:9-17 Pew Bible, NT pp. 249-50 The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Pastoral Prayer The Lord be with you. And also with you. The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amenkids.Comm (11:00 AM)

Thank you for knowing when to hold me close and when to let me go. Thank you for every stepping stone and for the path that always leads me home. I thank you for the time you took to see the heart inside of me. You gave me the roots to start this life, and then you gave me wings to fly, and I learned to dream because you believed in me. There’s no power like it on this earth, no treasure equal to its worth … the gift of a mother’s love. Thank you for every sunlit day that filled the corners of my memory. Thank you for every selfless, unsung deed I know you did for me. Thank you for giving me the choice to search my soul ‘til I could find my voice. And I thank you for teaching me to be strong enough to bend. You gave me the roots to start this life, and then you gave me wings to fly, and I learned to dream because you believed in me. There’s no power like it on this earth, no treasure equal to its worth … the gift of a mother’s love. I thank God for a mother’s love.
