Access is Omnitrans’ demand-response service for persons with disabilities who are qualifi ed under the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Only persons with a valid ADA identifi cation card may use Access service. To qualify for Access service, you must meet one of the conditions established by the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and have an ADA certifi cation card. Eligibility for the ADA card is determined through an application and in-person interview process.

To get an application, call (909)379-7100 or visit omnitrans.org. Once you have received an application, fi ll it out and mail it to the address listed on the application. Be sure to include a copy of your qualifying identifi cation, and a recent wallet sized photo, plus a $2 processing fee, in the form of a check or money order, made out to: ScreenCheck North America. Your approved ID card will be mailed directly to you within 10 business days. Please note there is a $5 replacement fee for lost or stolen cards. Omnitrans ADA ID CardPersons qualifi ed under the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) may receive this card following an application and evaluation process. Call for more information at (909) 379-7284. Personal Care Attendants ride Access and Omnitrans free when traveling with and boarding at the same stop as a fare paying ADA passenger. Th e passenger’s ADA card must state they are PCA eligible.

VeteransProof of eligibility such as County of San Bernardino Military Veterans ID card, US Dept. of Veterans Aff airs ID card, DMV ID/Driver license with Veteran designation, Dept. of Defense retired ID card or a transit agency Veterans ID card is required. Uniformed Active Military, Police and Fire PersonnelActive duty military, police or fi re personnel ride free on all of Omnitrans, sbX and OmniGo buses. (Not available on Access curb-to-curb service.) Active duty military personnel must wear the appropriate uniform at the time of boarding and present a valid U.S. Uniformed Services ID card indicating active service or a Common Access card indicating unformed services or active duty. Police and fi re personnel must be in full Class A uniform at the time of boarding.

Omnitrans does not issue transfers to its passengers. If you need to change buses to complete your trip, or need to travel past the end of the line on a route, you will have to pay another fare when you board

the next bus, unless you purchase a 1-Day, 7-Day or 31-Day pass.

You may use your Omnitrans pass as a free transfer to Foothill Transit at the Montclair Transit Center and the Pomona Transit Center. Omnitrans will accept a valid TAP card as a transfer from Foothill Transit at two locations only: the Montclair and Pomona Transit Centers. You may use your Omnitrans pass to transfer free to Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) where Omnitrans and RTA bus stops connect, such as the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, Mulberry and Marlay in Fontana, the Riverside Transit Center and the Highgrove Library in Riverside County. Omnitrans accepts Victor Valley Transit Authority’s, (VVTA) Mountain Transit’s and Pass Transit’s multi-use passes as a free transfer at points of connection. Each of these agencies provide Omnitrans valid and current multi-use pass holders with a $1 discount on passes or tickets available only onboard partner agency buses at a point of connection.

TAP cards are accepted fare payment methods for Southern California transit agencies such as Metro, Santa Clarita Transit, Culver Citybus, Antelope Valley Transit Authority, Foothill Transit, Norwalk Transit and Montebello Transit. Passengers using a TAP card can receive a free transfer onto an Omnitrans bus only at the Montclair and Pomona Transit Center. An Orange Disability and Senior TAP card can be used as ID to qualify for a reduced fare onboard Omnitrans buses, but it cannot be used to

ride Omnitrans Access Service.

You may use your one-way Metrolink ticket for one free ride on an Omnitrans bus departing a Metrolink station. You can also use your round trip Metrolink ticket or multi-day pass for one Omnitrans bus trip to and from a Metrolink station. Metrolink ticket/pass must be valid for

date of travel. Expired passes not accepted. Show to driver when boarding. Valid on connecting routes only. Please Note: Metrolink does not accept bus passes for discount train fare. 1. Board your bike using the door closest to the rear of the vehicle. Look for the symbol on the doors.

sbX Bike Loading

Regular Omnitrans buses are equipped with a bike rack on the front bumper that can hold two or three bikes. Bike racks can be used free of charge. Tire size must be at least 20” in diameter, which excludes most children’s bikes and motorized scooters. Children under age 14 can only use the racks if accompanied by a bus-riding adult. Omnitrans is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged bikes. Owners assume all risk for transported bikes and are responsible for loading and unloading bikes. Bikes are not allowed inside regular buses. For safety reasons, your driver is not allowed to help load or unload your bike.

1. Have your bike at the curb ready to load. Signal to your driver. Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop and then tell your driver you will be loading a bike.

2. Go to the front of the bus and lower the bike rack from the folded position.

3. Secure your bike by either:

A) Raising the the support arm over the front tire, or

B) Turning the hand crank counter-

clockwise to postition the support arm over the front tire.

2. Place bike in racks located inside the bike storage area. Wedge the rear tire between the metal bars.

3. Secure bike by pulling the lever bar up and over the rear tire. Attach velcro straps for added support in the center of the bike.

4. Before exiting, tell your driver you want to unload your bicycle. To unload, pull the support arm out and down over the front tire, lift your bike onto the curb, fold the rack up to the locked position, step away from the bus and signal the driver when you are fi nished.

Omnitrans buses are equipped with ramps to board passengers with wheelchair and other mobility devices. OmniGo and Access vehicles have lift s. Omnitrans buses can also “kneel” on request for easier boarding by orthopedically-challenged riders.

BOARDING• Wait at the bus stop and indicate to the driver that you need to use the lift /ramp. Th e ramp is located at the front of the bus; just look for the wheelchair symbol on the bus door.

• Position yourself to be in the clear as it deploys. Your coach operator will let you know when it’s safe to move on to the ramp.

• Wait for the driver to tell you to move on to the lift /ramp platform. If you are using the lift , set the brake on your wheelchair or mobility device once you have boarded; if you are standing, hold onto the handrails for support.

• When you’re all set, pay your fare and give your coach operator your destination. Th is will help to ensure that the bus is positioned correctly at the stop, so that you can conveniently exit the bus.

WHO MAY NOT USE THE RAMP?• Riders with retail shopping carts, wagons or regular baby strollers.

Drivers will make every attempt to accommodate the rider’s mobility device. Th e mobility device must safely fi t onto the lift platform and the lift must be able to safely raise the mobility device and its occupant. Service can be refused if the mobility device and its occupant cannot safely utilize the lift to board the vehicle. In according with the Code of Federal Regulation 49, Subpart G, 37.165 (c) 1.3, your coach operator will secure your mobility device with clamps or straps that are stored on all buses. Coach Operators will decline to provide service to a rider who refuses to allow his or her mobility device to be secured.

EXITING• When the bus stops, please be patient as your coach operator allows other customers to exit the bus. Your mobility device will be released from its safety clamp/belts before other passengers are allowed to board.

• When exiting, wait until the lift /ramp has reached the ground and if using OmniGo or Access, wait until the safety barrier has dropped before moving off the platform.

sbXsbX stations off er level boarding with bridge plates to span the gap between platform and vehicle. Th ere are two wheelchair securement locations per bus, each equipped with devices which hold the wheelchairs safely in place. Operators provide securement assistance as needed. Lap/shoulder belts are available upon request.

Designated service animals are welcome to ride the bus free of charge. Please note that your driver may ask if your animal is a service animal, and what tasks the animal has been trained to perform. You also may be asked to remove your service animal from the bus if 1) the animal’s behavior is out of control, and you do not take eff ective action to control it; or 2) the animal poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others. Pets may only ride the bus if they are in a secure pet carrier that fi ts on your lap. Animals are not allowed to ride on seats.

Do:• Let passengers get off before you board.

• Watch your step getting on and off .

• Be courteous. Seats next to the door are reserved for seniors and riders with disabilities.

• Please give your seat to someone who needs it more than you do.

• Stand behind the yellow line onboard.

• Use the seat-back hand-holds if you are standing.

• Use headphones with all audio and video devices.

• Stay clear of closing doors. Always follow the operator’s instructions.

• Hold a small child’s hand at all times.

• Make sure your child gets on and off the bus with you. Help each child on and off the bus safely.

• If you have a stroller, take your child out of the stroller, fold the stroller, and if possible, stow the stroller out of the way.

• Make sure that your child has no dangling clothing, untied shoelaces or unbuckled shoes.

• Devise a plan ahead of time with your children on what to do in case you get separated. If you do get separated, call an Omnitrans employee. Field Supervisors, Omnitrans security and bus operators are trained to help you.

Don’t:

• Talk to the operator when the bus is moving.

• Lean against the doors.

• Engage in horseplay or disruptive behavior.

• Let a child sit on bus steps or in the aisle.

• Let a child play or run in the station, or on the bus.

• Eat, drink, smoke or litter on Omnitrans buses, platforms, shelters and stations.

Th ere are several transit centers (off -street facilities) and transfer centers (on-street stops) in Omnitrans’ system, where many routes meet to make transferring to another bus easier. Th e maps on these pages show you where bus stops are located at each transit center or transfer center, as well as which routes serve each stop.

The San Bernardino Transit Center (SBTC) is the transfer point for Omnitrans local and express routes, sbX, Riverside Transit Agency (RTA), and Mountain Transit, Pass Transit and Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) and Metrolink. Outside features include shaded bus shelters, digital bus arrival signs, and an on site security staff and cameras, monitored 24/7. The lobby has a walk-up customer service counter where passes can be purchased for sbX, Mountain Transit, RTA and VVTA. SBTC also has digital information screens, public restrooms and NexTrip bus arrival information.
