My dear Parishioners,
I invite you to join me in welcoming Fr. Patrick Daugherty,
C.P., who has come from Our Lady of Florida Spiritual Cen-
ter in North Palm Beach, to assist us in ministry for the next
several weeks. It will be wonderful to have him participate
with us in our observances of Holy Week and the celebra-
tion of Easter. I trust that you will have an opportunity to
offer a personal word of welcome to Fr. Pat.
This past weekend, 31 youth of our parish made their Len-
ten retreat at Camp John Hope in Fort Valley, Georgia.
They were accompanied by Youth Director, Mrs. Kristi
Crawford, her husband Benjamin Crawford, Deacon George
Smith, and several other adults of the parish. They were
fortunate to have Fr. Urey P. Mark, Lyke House Chaplain, to
lead them in the celebration of the Eucharist and serve as
confessor for the sacrament of Reconciliation. I am most
grateful to him for making time in his very busy schedule to
be with our youth. He has a wonderful way with young peo-
ple and I am sure that our teen retreatants will treasure the
time he spent with them.
Our parish is blessed to have an outstanding group of teenag-
ers. They not only enjoy being together but also doing
things together. Prior to the retreat, they raised over $2,000
to help cover the cost of their retreat. We were informed by
the staff at Camp John Hope that our teens were tops among
the youth groups that come there. I share this with you be-
cause I want the whole parish to know what a wonderful
group of teens we have — following right in the footsteps of
our Young Adult Group. Let those of us who are older pray
for our younger parishioners; they are not just the future of
the parish, they are a vital part of the present parish. May
they continue to inspire and encourage us elders!
—Fr. Jerome, C.P.

RICE BOWL - WHAT YOU CAN GIVE UP FOR LENT, CHANGES LIVES: Encounter with Dita : Dita, her husband and their seven children depend on the money they earn selling crops from their small farm in Ethiopia. But frequent droughts often mean that families like Dita’s who depend on home-grown crops go hungry. And amidst the current, historic drought, more than 10 million people are struggling with hunger. But thanks to a CRS program that helps families prepare for crises like droughts, Dita was able to build a new house and open a small store. Visit crsricebowl.org and read this complete story of HOPE. Dita

sechas caseras pasen hambre.
Visita
