About Mrs. Grummer
This is my ninth year teaching third grade. I am so excited to be an IKES Firebird! I am also a proud member of the house of Azar!
I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelors of Early Childhood Education in 2007. I received a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Brenau University in 2008. I taught third grade at Mountain Road Elementary school for the first seven years of my teaching career. I joined the IKES faculty in 2014.
I live in Canton with my husband Brandon and our two children Peyton(7) and Maddox(4). I enjoy spending time with family every chance I get!! I also enjoy coaching tumbling, leading a second grade small group at church, and reading! My family and I love taking trips to the beach and Disney World!
I am so excited to be your child's third grade teacher this year! I look forward to an amazing year

ITBS – Fall 2015
GA Milestones Assessment- April 2015
Georgia Milestones
Item Types•Selected-Response [aka, multiple-choices]–all content areas–evidence-based selected response in ELA
•Constructed-Response–ELA and mathematics
•Extended-Response–ELA and mathematics
Constructed response is a general term for assessment items that require the student to generate a response as opposed to selecting a response.
Extended-response items require more elaborate answers and explanations of reasoning. They allow for multiple correct answers and/or varying methods of arriving at the correct answer. Writing prompts and performance tasks are examples of extended-response items.
Georgia Milestones
Features include:inclusion of constructed-response items in ELA and mathematics, in addition to selected-response itemsinclusion of a writing component (in response to text) at every grade level and course within the ELA assessment;inclusion of norm-referenced items in every grade and content area to complement the criterion-referenced information and to provide a national comparison; andtransition to online administration over time, with online administration considered the primary mode of administration and paper-pencil back-up until transition is completed.
Addition of technology-enhanced items beginning in 2016-2017.
Depth of Knowledge (DOK)
Some general distinctions can be made among the levels.
Level 1: Requires students to recall or recognize facts or to use simple skills or abilities.
Level 2: Requires students to engage in some form of mental processing beyond recalling or reproducing a response.
Level 3: Requires students to reason, analyze, evaluate, or synthesize information.
Level 4: Requires students to explain, devise, analyze, evaluate, synthesize (real world/problem based learning) over a period of time.
