Trend 1- The new spectrum is “Intrapreneurship” to Entrepreneurship

• Entrepreneurship as a mindset

The Intrapreneur is an employee who operates in the job role with innovation, creativity, and transforms ideas into profitable ventures, either informally or

formally.

Page 11: Welcome to Entrepreneurship Curriculum: Exploring the Opportunities Today’s Presenters: Christine Mollenkopf-Pigsley, Dakota County Technical College 2013.

• Entrepreneurial Thinking as a General Education course offering or in programs outside the Business Department

• Kauffman Foundation’s Icehouse Entrepreneurship Programhttp://youtu.be/VWYYrdH2CMQ

• Non-credit/customized training for companies to cultivate Intrapreneurship

• Replacing the productivity & sales training seminars for professional development

Trend 2- Entrepreneurship on the Career Ladder• Self-employment (full-time or supplemental) is

a viable reality for virtually any career path and any individual

• Empowering students (especially young students) to think about their long-term career goals and opportunities

Page 13: Welcome to Entrepreneurship Curriculum: Exploring the Opportunities Today’s Presenters: Christine Mollenkopf-Pigsley, Dakota County Technical College 2013.

• Technical Degrees redesigned to include Entrepreneurship “skills” courses as requirements, electives, or add-on certificates

• Continuing Education Offerings- “just in time” to support the needs of students, alumni & the community
