Mill Run - PA Fallingwater Guided House & Kentuck Knob tours – Overnight
Est. $145/person $235/couple (Min. 20 residents sign-up) Fallingwater is a house built in 1936 over a
waterfall in southwest Pennsylvania. Frank Lloyd Wright, America’s most
famous architect, designed the house for his clients, the Kaufmann family. It
instantly became famous, and today it is a National Historic Landmark.
Why is it so famous? It's a house that
doesn’t even appear to stand on solid
ground, but instead stretches out over a
30’ waterfall. Accessibility Note: There
is considerable walking during the Fallingwater Guided House tour beginning
with a 1/4 mile walk from the visitor center to the house. While in the House,
there are numerous staircases and once the tour begins there is no place to
sit down. A shuttle service to and from the house is available. You
may choose to tour the first floor only and return to the visitor center where a video can be watched about the
house.
Kentuck Knob: Kentuck Knob, also known as the Hagan House, is another residence designed by
Frank Lloyd Wright in rural Stewart Township. The house was completed in
1956, and the Hagans lived at Kentuck Knob for almost 30 years.
