What is MCDE?
• Completely student run and choreographed club– Must be in dance ensemble for at least one semester in
order to choreograph• Over 300 members• Variety of styles and levels• Classes meet once a week for an hour per class– 9 weeks of classes before rehearsal week
• Classes run from Sunday to Thursday (5pm-11pm)– Aerobic Studio (McCann) and Dance Studio (Student
Center)
The Dance Show
• November 23rd at 4:30pm, November 24th at 2:00pm
• Show will be at Poughkeepsie High School – Spring show is on campus
• Rehearsal week is the week before the show, practice every night (one night off)– MANDATORY
• Dress rehearsal the Friday night before the show
Signing Up For Classes
• Dances will be posted on our website by Wednesday• Choose dances that you like, fit your level AND that fit your
schedule• Email your prospective choreographers on Friday,
September 12th at 7:00pm (hint: don’t use foxmail)• Choreographers must get back to you by Saturday 10:00pm
– Email the choreographer again if you do not hear back from them
• If you don’t get into any dances please email club account – I will find at least 1 dance for everyone to be in
What to do if I can’t make a meeting or class…
• You are allowed to miss ONE meeting• You do not have to tell us you are going to
miss it or why• If the meeting is at 9:30 and – You have dance at 9:00pm come after– You have dance at 10:00pm come before
• Missing dance class– You can miss 2 classes, then it is up to the
choreographer whether or not to ask you to leave

emails throughout the semester

• Puts together and approves music for show and works with MCTV
• Approves all costume decisions• Helps with auditions and is the

• Sends emails and updates to members
• Go to if not receiving emails

• Responsible for financial records of the club
• In charge of allocations and budget
• Handles all matters regarding club expenses

• Oversees all vendors at the show
• Responsible for Show Committee (PRIORITY POINT OPPORTUNITY)
• In charge of apparel and ticket sales
• Apparel sale dates: Oct. 15th, Oct. 16th, Oct. 21st

Public Relations Manager
• Publicizes the show both on campus and off campus
• Creates flyers, tickets, programs and posters
• Behind the Curtain Campaign (Priority Point Opportunity-sign up after the meeting!)

• Researches and finds events for community service opportunities (PRIORITY POINT OPPORTUNITIES)
• Finds organizations for the 50/50 donation
