FAITH FORMATION NEWS

Parish registration and student registration in the Faith For-mation Program

As I first informed everyone at the registration orientation, every parent who registers a student in the Faith Formation program must be registered in the parish. Without the parish registration form the student does not show in the Faith For-mation classes. There are two forms, one is the parish regis-tration form that goes to the main office and the other is the student registration form that goes to Miss Rodriguez’ office.

Saturday/Sunday Mass

After the Saturday or Sunday Mass the student goes to his/her classroom to pick up her /his calendar and brings it to the catechist in Our Lady of Guadalupe Hall for the stamp and leaves it with the catechist.

Twenty-Sixth Sunday of Ordinary Time

Today’s Gospel gives us powerful revelation of Jesus teaching us about hell. The word used by the Gospel is Greek for nether-world, i.e. the place of the dead. The church gives a brief teach-ing on the official teaching of this in the Catechism of the Catho-lic Church says that this is a state rather than a place (CCC 1033). An unquenchable fire separates those that have chosen separa-tion from God through their actions instead of God. What is important to get from this Gospel is that Jesus teaches that if the cares and riches of this world are what comfort us more than the blessings and love of God, we are choosing the life that we want. Jesus teaches that we have already been given all of His teaching through His word and the Church that even a big miracle, i.e. the Resurrection cannot convert. My prayer is that we examine our life and see where it is that we still have to say yes to God. Juan Aguacate

No eligen a Dios. Juan Aguacate
