As sharers of the one baptism & the one Spirit of the Risen Christ, we come together as the Parish Community of St. Mark the Evangelist to proclaim our identity as the People of God.

The Eucharist is the center of our life and work together. Through the one bread, we become the one body of Christ, a living sacrifice of praise. In our worship of God, the Author of

life and holiness, we proclaim our hope in the life of Christ’s Resurrection; we open our

hearts and minds to the Spirit of God dwelling in our midst.

In our work, together, we seek…

to enable our children to grow in the wisdom and knowledge of God; to accompany our

young sons and daughters on their journeys of discovery toward adulthood; to deepen our

faith commitment through prayer & study; to be present to one another in the joys and

sufferings, the victories and struggles of life; to give witness to the Gospel of justice and

compassion to our hurting world.

We welcome to our parish family all who share our Catholic faith & traditions & our search

for God in all things.

Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time September 12, 2021

From Your Pastor

Brothers and Sisters-

Welcome back to our weekly bulletin!!! It has been a while since I have written a ‘Pastor’s Letter’ so I have a lot to say!!!

First of all, THANK YOU for all of your cooperation, patience, generosity, and faithfulness during the strange year we have been living through!!! Even though we were distant for some time, I am so thankful that our community has stayed ‘close in spirit’ and ‘united in prayer’!!! As I have been saying, this weekend is our ‘St. Mark’s Reboot 2.0 Weekend’!!!

This weekend we begin our Faith Formation Programs for the 2021-2022 Academic Year and we are thrilled at the willingness of so many volunteers to make this happen!! Please keep all our kids in prayer (we have over 100 registered for programs), that they are open to growing in relationship with Christ and His Church this year! Also, please pray for the volunteers and staff members that these experiences refresh and nourish their own lives of faith and discipleship!!

In the coming weeks there will be many ways to ‘plug back in’ to our community here and we hope to have many of you give your time and talents to make St. Mark’s a vibrant parish where faith in Christ is contagious!! We will be looking to REBOOT: our Welcome Ministry, the St. Mark’s Cafe, the Adult Choir and 9:30 Music Group, our Outreach Committee, our Parish Knights of Columbus, Faith Formation and Youth Ministry, our prayer shawl ministry, His Healing Touch Ministry, Altar Servers…and much more!!! Also, if you are ‘feeling called’ to begin a specific ministry, please meet with me!! There are so many more ways we can build our community of faith, and you may be instrumental in making that happen!!

I look forward to all that lies ahead for our community here!! We are blessed with so many of you who make St. Mark’s ‘home’!! Let us all pray for each other and our parish during this REBOOT 2.0!! Always in Christ,

Fr. Mike

We seek to foster connections as we encourage one another in our journeys, especially during difficult times. Meetings are open and ongoing so you can feel free to join us at any time. They are offered twice a month via Zoom and last approximately one hour. We welcome you to participate in the discussion or just sit and listen. These sessions are confidential and there are no requirements to share any personal information. Any and all discussion is determined by the comfort level of those participating. Each session looks at a passage from the treasury of healing and hope found in Sacred Scripture as a theme. Our next gathering will be on Wednesday, September 22 at 11:00 AM via Zoom. If you would like more information, or would like to receive the Zoom link to participate, please email [email protected].

Faith Formation 2021-2022 *Schedule of classes on next page

All classes begin THIS Sunday, September 12 following the 9:30 AM Mass.

St. Mark’s KIDS (PreK - Grade 5) We will continue to grow with God through learning about his boundless love and wonderful plan for each one of us!! If you child is in a Sacramental year (Grade 2 - Reconciliation, Grade 3 - Confirmation & First Eucharist) they are required to participate to receive their Sacraments. Our goal is to have EVERY child enrolled in a Faith Formation Program.

EDGE (Grade 6 - 8) / Life Teen (Grade 9 - 12) In this busy world, Edge & Life Teen provides an opportunity for young people to slow down and get grounded in God. Edge & Life Teen seeks to develop disciples by walking alongside young people as they see a personal relationship with Christ through engaging, relevant catechesis, missionary outreach and personal witness. All 6th through 12th grade students are encouraged to come check it out!

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a wonderful experience for our children ages 4 - 8 to come together and hear the gospel at their own level!
