My dear people of Willard, Greenwood & Loyal:
Last Christmas was a very happy time I had. Then afterwards I came
to know that my dad (73) was sick, he was affected by a skin disease and it
started to spread to my Mom (72) and brother and brother’s family and my
sister (NUN) who visited my dad for some days. My dad was taken to
different hospitals to diagnose the problem. At last after a month it was
diagnosed and started to give him treatment and all family members also
had the same treatment. The disease is under control now. My dad is still
bedridden now and kept at home. And my Mom is taking care of him.
He worried us in the last two months, after 2 months he is feeling
better now. He is eating and able to sit down for few minutes. Being far away from my family,
I could not bear their sad story and cry for every day. I even started to feel guilty of my absence
with them in their real need. But it is the Lord who strengthened me. It is your prayers and
support which doubled my strength. God is with us and heard all our prayers.
Since my parents were farmers and had a tough time in the past years, they could not save
money for their future and they did not have any insurance to cover their elderly age expenses and
hospital expenses. I was supporting them and taking care of them about 10 years.
With this critical situation in my family, your support and help mean a lot to me and
to my family. I just wanted to thank you all. I really do not know how many months and days
my dad is going to be like this. My mom is also not healthy to take care of my dad and she is also
getting treatment for certain health issues. Since the skin disease is under control now, it is
good that I go back to India to meet and help my Mom to take care of my dad.
I have planned to leave after Easter and wanted to spend a few weeks with them.
I am attending a week of retreat, I thought it is good for my spiritual strength. Then I
promise that I will come back here to continue my ministry.
I wish and pray for all our parishioners to have a fruitful season of Lent and receive the
blessings from the Good Lord.
God Bless you all,
Fr Leo Johnson

HOLY FAMILY LITURGICAL ROLES
Sharing Our Blessings – Lent 2020
Help the Widows and children of India. A married couple
in India can barely make ends meet from the income they
earn with both spouses working. Most couples need to
help feed not only their children but their parents as well.
Often times, this cannot be accomplished as there just
isn’t enough money to go around. This is even worse for a
widow and their children. The widow struggles to put
food on the table for themselves and their children. Can
you find it in your heart to give a little during this season
of Lent? Take home a jar from back of church and fill
with pocket change throughout lent. Return to any of the
cluster parishes by Easter Sunday. Sponsored by Fr. Leo
& Joint Social Concerns Committee of St. Anthony’s,
St. Mary’s and Holy Family.
Wanted! We would appreciate any sweepstakes
item, new or homemade, to add to the table at the
St. Anthony Holy Name Fish Boil. These may be
dropped off at the rectory. Thank you!
Notice! Until further notification, we will not be sharing
the Blood of Christ. Only one person will be needed for
Eucharistic Minister.
There are copies of the New American Bible-Revised
Edition now available in the back of
St. Mary’s Church. They are the edition
used for the quiz. You may take one home,
use it and return it when finished or you may
purchase one for $5 to keep and have as your own. If
wishing to purchase, please pay $5 to one of the
St. Ann’s Society officers.

Attend a compassionate Adult Education workshop
about End of Life Planning from a Catholic
Perspective. Typical questions about end of life issues:
Must medical treatment always be continued? Are Cath-
olics allowed to have Living Wills? What is Church
teaching about “Death with Dignity”? How do I make
my Catholic health care directive? Fr. Leo will address
these questions and others during this workshop on
March 19 at St. Mary’s Catholic School at 5:30 pm and
will provide steps for putting together a valid Catholic
Health Care Directive. Additionally, Speaker Robert
Heuermann, Executive Director of the Catholic United
Financial Foundation, counsels’ individuals, churches
and organization on how to make the most of their
charitable giving strategies. Learn simple ways to
MAXIMIZE your charitable giving and the help it
provides your Catholic community at this FREE work-
shop. Our expert will explain topics like: how the new
tax laws affect your charitable giving; how to use
“bunching” in your charitable strategy; how to creative-
ly use QCDs for tax advantages and more. A light din-
ner will be proved after the presentation. Our workshop
host is Sales Representative Vicky Giacalone of Catho-
lic United Financial. Call 920-475-3196 or email vgia-
[email protected] for more details or to RSVP.
