Welcome to this year’s sponsorship proposal and thank you for taking the time to
consider supporting Imperial’s biggest and most fashionable new society!
Imperial College Fashion and Design Society, or IC FAD as it’s affectionately known, was
founded last year as a counterpoint to the STEM* life that Imperial students dedicate
themselves to. Our founding principle is to use a shared appreciation for fashion and design to
allow students to develop their creativity and broaden their interests outside of their day-to-day
courses. We had an overwhelming response from the student body– in our first twelve months,
over 240 students joined the society and we grew our mailing list to over 600 students!
IC FAD had a busy first year - we published 3 campus-wide magazines, hosted 2 keynote
industry speakers, threw 4 socials (some joint with other London universities), spread the
festive joy with a Christmas feast, co-ordinated trips to the latest V&A exhibitions, and
collaborated with other Imperial societies for seasonal activities! And that’s all before the most
important event of all - the unforgettable Imperial College Charity Fashion Show (ICCFS).
ICCFS' core purpose is to raise funds for charity in a way that allows us to showcase our
favourite fashion and talents for the Imperial student body. Last year we raised more than
£2,000 and we hope to raise over double that at this summer’s show with your support.
And that brings us to the purpose of this proposal - we want to take what we achieved last
year and build on it to make it twice as amazing! We’d like to take your brands and products
and experiences, and expose them to some of the top students in the world. Last year we
worked with a variety of companies, both big and small, who helped support our activities and
we were able to give them unique opportunities that allowed them to reach their desired
audiences in a way that suited their target budgets. This proposal outlines just some of the
opportunities available, but we’d also love to work with you to find a solution for everybody!
Once again, thank you for taking the time to review this proposal and we look forward to the
opportunity to work with you in the coming academic year. Don’t hesitate to get in contact
with me or any of our hardworking committee if you have any queries or questions.

October 2016 was the inception of the new IC FAD and what better way to make a lasting
impression on the Imperial student population than to throw the most celebrated event of
the year: Imperial College Charity Fashion Show (ICCFS). The purpose of ICCFS is to raise
funds and awareness for our annually chosen charities through the showcasing of local fashion
and talent. Last year we raised over £2,000 for the Pratham Education Foundation and
Cancer Research UK.
ICCFS aims to showcase young British talent but also to celebrate well-established brands, all
modelled by Imperial students. Last year’s designers included Greta Torresi, Nuno Lopes de
Oliveira, Jamie Button and Seung Ik Lee. Between the runways, we had acts from the
university's own talented body including Belly Dancing, Funkology, State of Nature and the
Techtonics (collegiate acapella world champions). Embodying the spirit of the university, the
theme for 2017 was futuristic-tech: Mechanica, inspired by the Met Ball’s theme (Manus ex
Machina) and metallic trends. Through the efforts and coordination of over 150 people,
including a dedicated ICCFS committee, the show was a sold-out success. The theme for
next year aims to mix Havana feels with urban fashion in a theme we call: Psychotropica and
it will be held in Summer 2018.
In order to support one of the biggest student events in the calendar, we need the help of
our sponsor partners. Last year we had a variety of sponsors who we worked with in different
ways including goodie bags, dedicated social media posts, logo placement (trailers,
posters, pictures, wristbands) and more. Our sponsors were extremely pleased with the
exposure they got and their contributions were a critical part in making the event a success.
This year we’re hoping to make Psychotropica even bigger than last year and in doing so, we
know that the opportunities for support and sponsorship will also grow dramatically. As well as
all of the ideas from last year, we have a host of fresh ideas we think could be interesting and
exciting. We’d also love to work directly with you on unique, bespoke sponsorship ideas as
we find the best solutions often come through collaboration!
This is your opportunity to establish a legacy as a key supporter of our annual flagship event.
We support all types of brands from beauty companies to luxury chocolates. Our goodie bags are packed with the coolest products giving you to the chance to raise awareness of your brand whilst associating it with the hottest student event of the year. If donated in kind, we are happy to have flexibility around the specific way your product would be distributed on the day.
Other physical presence includes company logo on wristbands, which must be worn by guests at all times during the event and are often kept on longer, and a full/half page advertisement space in the programme, given to each guest at the beginning of the show.
The raffle is an ICCFS interval staple, raising hundreds of pounds that go directly to charity. This is the perfect way to help a worthy cause and at the same time, promoting your company to the Imperial student hub.
Previous raffle prizes have included:
• A trip for two to Paris
• Year's supply of Cobra Beer
• Hamper of luxury Belgian chocolate from Godiva
• £100 voucher for Slaters men's suits, bespoke tailored
• Dinner for 2 at Gaylord, Mayfair
The Fashion Show is covered across campus and is generally a big discussion topic with the student body in the run-up to ticket sales and the event itself. Last year, our Fashion Show even reached international publicity with an article in Tribuna de Macau! Recent similar student events were covered by Tatler, Vogue and Time Magazine. We hope to partner with similar publications this year.

Founded in 2016, IC FAD was established to promote interest in Fashion and Design
and to highlight the many relevant links between Fashion and the STEM disciplines at
Imperial. Excellence in education is at the core of Imperial’s ethos and is reflected in UK
and international rankings (8th—QS world 2018). Our societal aim is to allow students
to develop their creativity and broaden their interest in the fashion industry.
We encourage our members to apply their technical knowledge to the world of fashion
and host lectures on relevant topics. Throughout the year we organise a variety of events
including V&A exhibition trips, illustration workshops and collaborations with other
universities. This year, we will be launching the first London University Modest Charity
Fashion Show with UCL, KCL, QMUL & LSE, held at SOAS.
Our crowning glory is the annual Charity Fashion Show which involves the coordination
of over 150 people including models, committee, staff, acts and tech. We raised more
than £2,000 for charity in 2016 and hope to raise double that at this summer’s show with
your support.
