Teacher
Teachers will ensure that homework is distributed on a Friday to provide the weekend as an opportunity for students to plan and begin their homework for the
upcoming week. The teacher’s role in homework is to provide support for those boys who seek help with any of the maths/spelling concepts that are being
covered each week.
Students
Students must consult with their parents to help plan their weekly homework around family schedules for that week. They must be proactive in seeking help
with anything requiring further support. Students must watch the relevant flipped videos to ensure they benefit fully from the ‘flipped classroom’ strategy.
Students must ensure they have completed their homework by due date and have asked their parents to sign their weekly homework overview sheet. If they
have not competed specific tasks on time they will be accountable for this and additional work will be completed in their own time. If there are any issues
regarding completing homework, students will require their parents to write a note in their diary or email the classroom teacher.
Parents
Parents should consult with their sons about upcoming weekly events as they plan a schedule to complete the weekly homework. Parents should notify
teachers either in the diary/via email if their son has found specific maths concepts difficult. Parents should encourage their sons to speak to their teacher if
they need further support with any concepts that may have been covered during the week in any of the subject areas.
