Do stay and join us for tea and coffee aſter the service. Dear friends, I have been struck this week by some words of George MacDonald. He has written: There is a place in God Himself, into which no-one can enter but that one person alone. From that room, from that unique place inside, the individual has to bring reve- lation and strength for others. This is what that person in particular was made for: to reveal secret things that are from the Father. Every one of us is something that the other is not, and therefore knows something— maybe without knowing that they know it—which no one else knows; and it is every- ones task, as one of the kingdom of light and an inheritor of it all, to give their portion to the rest.It would be easy to overlook people amongst us who have the least to say or who are the most unassuming, but if George MacDonald is correct then those individuals hold the key to a truth about, or a facet of, God which no-one else does. To overlook them, then, would be to our collective detriment. Equally, a responsibility is placed on each of us to reveal our specific secret thingfrom the Father. Im reminded of the analogy of the jigsaw puzzle, whereby we all have to bring our piece of the puzzle in order for the picture to be viewed in its entirety, in all its glory. Wherever we are, if we remember that we have been made purposefully (i.e. by a cre- ator for a specific purpose) then we may realise how important it is to share our por- tion, so that everyone has a better understanding of the Father who loves us. Welcome to Wellington Methodist Church! At the top of New Street, the church seeks to serve town and people and offers good news for all. Please feel at home and if you would like to know more about the work of the Church please ask, or fill in one of the contact leaflet sheets to join the mailing/email list. Dear friends,

I have been struck this week by some words of George MacDonald. He has written: ‘There is a place in God Himself, into which no-one can enter but that one person alone. From that room, from that unique place inside, the individual has to bring reve-lation and strength for others. This is what that person in particular was made for: to reveal secret things that are from the Father.

Every one of us is something that the other is not, and therefore knows something—maybe without knowing that they know it—which no one else knows; and it is every-one’s task, as one of the kingdom of light and an inheritor of it all, to give their portion to the rest.’

It would be easy to overlook people amongst us who have the least to say or who are the most unassuming, but if George MacDonald is correct then those individuals hold the key to a truth about, or a facet of, God which no-one else does. To overlook them, then, would be to our collective detriment. Equally, a responsibility is placed on each of us to reveal our specific “secret thing” from the Father. I’m reminded of the analogy of the jigsaw puzzle, whereby we all have to bring our piece of the puzzle in order for the picture to be viewed in its entirety, in all its glory.

Wherever we are, if we remember that we have been made purposefully (i.e. by a cre-ator for a specific purpose) then we may realise how important it is to share our por-tion, so that everyone has a better understanding of the Father who loves us.

Every blessing,

Diane
