2 These analytical data will be incorporated into the report for Task 42 after all coents on that 11e110randu report have been received

3 In sary there do not appear to be any unusual or unexpectedfindings The sludges in the area of fon~er che~ical ptts 3 and 4 are by far the 110st concentrated In areas not proposed to be capped under the ltbullited capping approach of the RIFS or that of Oltn Inc the levels of contatnants are low and thts suggeststhat this reaatntng containatton would probably not create a future hazard However the pt ts and scrape areas 1111 be designated as waste handling areas and one 1111 consider cappingthbull on that basts

Dividing the concentration found in soil and sludge by the Prelibullinary Protective Concentration Libullit (PPCL) gives a relative value of the hazard potential of the individual volatile compounds

Our review of these volatile copounds via the procedure outlined in our ~e~Crandum report for Task 42 - 2185 indicates that the conclusions of that report would not be changed by this data However the cap design effectiveness suggested -y change
