WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH JESUS?WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH JESUS?

Page 2: What are you doing with Jesus?

Jesus Christ lived more than 2,000 years ago. Thousands of years before he was born, prophets foretold his coming. His birth was attended by angelic hosts. Demons knew and feared him. Three days after he died he came back to life. Forty days later, witnesses saw him lifted up to heaven! What more do you need to believe and follow?

Page 3: What are you doing with Jesus?

ISAIAH wrote about Jesus more than 700 years before Jesus was born…

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isa 7:14 AV)

Page 4: What are you doing with Jesus?

And…

“He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken [it].” (Isa 25:8 AV)

Page 5: What are you doing with Jesus?

Also…

“Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, [in whom] my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.” (Isa 42:1 AV)

Page 6: What are you doing with Jesus?

The events in Jesus’ life were prophesied centuries before he was born, and not just by one prophet but by several prophets who were separated from one another by centuries!

Page 7: What are you doing with Jesus?

A prophecy about Jesus from the prophet Isaiah…

“As many were astonished at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:” (Isa 52:14 AV)

Page 8: What are you doing with Jesus?

Again from the prophet Isaiah…

“But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” (Isa 53:5 AV)

Page 9: What are you doing with Jesus?

This prophecy of Isaiah was fulfilled by Jesus...

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound;” (Isa 61:1 AV)

Micah, also a prophet, wrote more than 700 years before Jesus was born :

“But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, [though] thou be little among the thousands of Judah, [yet] out of thee shall he come forth unto me [that is] to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth [have been] from of old, from everlasting.” (Mic 5:2 AV)

Zechariah, priest and prophet, said these words some 500 years before Jesus came:

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he [is] just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.” (Zec 9:9 AV)

Page 12: What are you doing with Jesus?

“And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn.” (Zec 12:10 AV)

Page 13: What are you doing with Jesus?

Likewise, the birth of Jesus was attended by amazing events! Look at the following slides…

Page 14: What are you doing with Jesus?

His birth was revealed by an angel who also gave him a name…

“And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name [was] Mary.” (Lu 1:26-27 AV)

“And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.” (Lu 1:30-31 AV)

Page 15: What are you doing with Jesus?

An angel announced his birth to shepherds on a hillside…

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” (Lu 2:10-11 AV)

Page 16: What are you doing with Jesus?

Angels sang the first Nöel on Jesus’ birth…

“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” (Lu 2:13-14 AV)

Page 17: What are you doing with Jesus?

Wise men guided by a star, sought and found Jesus…

“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.” (Mt 2:1-2 AV)

Page 18: What are you doing with Jesus?

There was a righteous and devout man in Jerusalem named Simeon. The Holy Spirit revealed to him that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. Upon seeing Jesus, he said,

“Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.” (Lu 2:29-32 AV)

Page 19: What are you doing with Jesus?

The life of Jesus is likewise full of amazing events proving that he was, indeed, the Son of God…

Page 20: What are you doing with Jesus?

God the Father testified that Jesus is His Son…

“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Mt 3:16-17 AV)

Page 21: What are you doing with Jesus?

He commands the elements and they obey his voice…

“And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to [him], and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” (Mt 8:24-26 AV)

Page 22: What are you doing with Jesus?

Demons knew Jesus…

“And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, Saying, Let [us] alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.” (Mr 1:23-24 AV)

Page 23: What are you doing with Jesus?

Jesus revealed his true nature, God, to three disciples…

“And after six days Jesus taketh [with him] Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.” (Mr 9:2-4 AV)

Page 24: What are you doing with Jesus?

Events surrounding Jesus’ death proves he was no ordinary man…

Page 25: What are you doing with Jesus?

His death fulfilled a 700-year prophecy…

“Therefore will I divide him [a portion] with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” (Isa 53:12 AV)

Page 26: What are you doing with Jesus?

He gave up his life that sinners might have forgiveness of sins…

“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do...” (Lu 23:34 AV)

Page 27: What are you doing with Jesus?

Jesus’ death was followed by unprecedented events…

“Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.” (Mt 27:50-53 AV)

Page 28: What are you doing with Jesus?

The earth shuddered at Jesus’ death…

“Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.” (Mt 27:54 AV)

Page 29: What are you doing with Jesus?

Jesus died on the cross before many witnesses. After three days, he came back to life and was seen by many! Proof enough that indeed he was God…

Page 30: What are you doing with Jesus?

“Now when [Jesus] was risen early the first [day] of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. [And] she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.” (Mr 16:9-11 AV)

Page 31: What are you doing with Jesus?

Jesus’ left Earth and the company of men…

“And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.” (Lu 24:50-51 AV)

Page 32: What are you doing with Jesus?

Now, what are you doing with Jesus?

Page 33: What are you doing with Jesus?

Jesus is the only door to salvation…

“I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” (Joh 10:9 AV)

Page 34: What are you doing with Jesus?

Salvation is in Jesus, and Jesus alone…

“This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Ac 4:11-12 AV)

Page 35: What are you doing with Jesus?

Salvation is yours if you open the door of your life…

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Re 3:20 AV)

Page 36: What are you doing with Jesus?

“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD [is] near in the valley of decision.” (Joel 3:14 NKJV)

Page 37: What are you doing with Jesus?

Lord Jesus, I want to have an intimate

relationship with you. I open the door of my life to you. I invite you to come in and be my friend, my constant companion in life.

Is this what you are saying to Jesus in

your heart?

If it is, then pray the following from your

heart…

Page 38: What are you doing with Jesus?

LORD, here and now, I repent and believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I believe you died for me, as my Substitute, and rose from the dead according to the Scriptures. Thank you Lord, for taking my place, and paying my debt in full. Even though I was apart from You, separated by my sin, You saw me, helpless, and fallen, and loved me enough to die for me. You did no wrong. I'm the one who has sinned, I broke God's Law. I deserve to die for my sins. You were innocent, and yet took my place on the Cross. I believe that You suffered the penalty for all my sins, You paid the full price to wipe out my debt.

Page 39: What are you doing with Jesus?

Your sinless Blood, precious and Divine, pays for all my sin. Because You took my punishment, I am now free. No sin remains to condemn me. I'm no longer guilty before God. I can never be judged or condemned for my sins because they were judged in You, Lord. I believe this Good News, the message of the Cross. I trust Your Promise that everyone who asks receives. Please forgive me Lord. I receive You now into my heart. I accept Your gracious gift of love, mercy and peace. The LORD Jesus Christ now lives in me. I am a new creation in Christ. Born of God with the life of Jesus in me.

Page 40: What are you doing with Jesus?

I trust the Blood of Christ cleanses every sin from my life. My record is wiped clean because of your grace and mercy. LORD, I trust that You did enough for me. You paid it all, so no more price need ever be paid. You did enough to save me forever, I will not claim any merit, offer any good works, or pay any price, as long as I live. Nor will I say or do anything more to have my past sins forgiven, or to be saved. Lord Jesus, You did enough 2,000 years ago to save me once and for all. From this moment I trust entirely in what You did for me on the Cross. It is sufficient. Nothing can ever improve my salvation.

Page 41: What are you doing with Jesus?

Your Blood has cleansed me. I am forgiven. I am saved now. Help me to follow You, and share this wonderful news with everyone. Thank You Lord for my full salvation. AMEN!
