© 2015 Grand Valley State University. 8072 Summer Health Activities and Professions Exploration (sHaPe) for boys and girls is a one-week day camp introduction to the health professions. Students participate in activities that provide hands-on exposure to a variety of health professions. Students in sHaPe have the opportunity to study anatomy, physiology, and personal health and fitness. They explore the professions of medical lab science, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant, radiation therapy, sonography, speech pathology, sports medicine, and therapeutic recreation. JOIN US for a one-week, nonresidential sHaPe camp. Forty students will be accepted into the program. Sessions will be held at the Grand Valley State University Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences in downtown Grand Rapids. ELIGIBILITY Participants must be between the ages of 12–15, currently in the 7th or 8th grade, and entering 8th or 9th grade in Fall 2015. Preference will be given to students attending Grand Rapids Public Schools. Completed application forms must be received no later than April 30, 2015. SUPERVISION/MEALS Counselors are assigned in a ratio of one for every 10 students. Lunch and snacks are provided each day. COS T The camp is FREE. ACCEPTANCE The Grand Valley State University Regional Math and Science Center will begin notifying students of acceptance or waiting list status beginning May 12, 2015. EL 8° O 9° GRADO

¿Estás interesado en una

profesión médica?

para el futuro!

ELEGIBILIDADEs necesario que los participantes tengan entre doce y quince años de edad, actualmente estén en 7° u 8° grado, y vayan a empezar

8° o 9° grado en otoño de 2015. Los

estudiantes que se asisten a las escuelas de Grand

Rapids Public Schools tendrán preferencia. Las aplicaciones

completas deben de ser recibidas antes del 30 de abril del 2015.

SUPERVISIÓN/COMIDAHay un consejero por cada diez estudiantes. Almuerzo y aperitivos serán previstos durante el campamento.

EL PRECOEl campamento está gratis.

TRANSPORTACIÓNEl programa de sHaPe proveerá transportación a los participantes que la requieran.

Es un campamento del verano con actividades saludables que permiten a los estudiantes explorar las profesiones médicas (Summer Health Activities and Professions Explorations — sHaPe). El campamento es para muchachos y muchachas, se lleva a cabo durante el día una semana.

Los estudiantes del sHaPe tienen la oportunidad de estudiar anatomía, fisiología, y salud personal y educación fisica. Además de esto, los estudiantes tienen la posibilidad de explorar las profesiones de investigación médicas, terapéutica laboral, fisioterapia, médico asistente, radioterapia, sonografia, patología del habla, medicina de deporte, y recreación terapéutica.

ÚNASE A NOSOTROSTodas las sesiónes de sHaPe se lleva a cabo durante el día y duran

una semana. Cuarenta estudiantes participan

en sHaPe. Las sesiones tomarán

lugar en Grand Valley State University Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences en el centro de Grand

Rapids.
