from the chairAs another year comes to a close I would like to congratulate the team at Arts OutWest for their efforts and what has been achieved. I am stepping down as the Chair of Arts OutWest to pursue another challenge and I would like to thank our Executive Director Tracey Callinan for the time and effort she puts in to making Arts Outwest a stand out Regional Arts Development Organisation and for her continued support of me. I would also like to thank the other members of the Board for their work and dedication in helping make Arts OutWest a Regional Arts Development Organisation admired throughout NSW for what it has and will continue to accomplish.It has been an honour and privilege to serve as Chair for the past six years.Libby Oldham

Kew-Y-Ahn Gallery, a partnership with National Parks and Wildlife Services, hosted ‘Yindyamarra’ exhibition by Blayney artist Nyree Reynolds; and ‘Sistas’ by Bev Coe and the Wiradjuri Fibre Artists of Condobolin.Aleshia co-curated and exhibited at the Cool Burn exhibition at Wyangla with The Corridor Project and organised workshops in dance and weaving.Supported weaving sessions with Bev Coe in Condobolin.Belly-casting in Cowra.Supported Sistas Shed in Peak Hill in artmaking sessions.Supported Kelso Women’s Groups in art sessions.Supported Scott ‘Sauce’ Towney from Peak Hill in the making of work for Cementa 17 (a contemporary art festival) as part of the Big Skies Collaboration.Supported the making of the film ‘Miro’, shot in thr Condobolin area.Jimmy Little Gathering: planning for 2017 event and supported launch event at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.

Commenced mapping the region for festivals, public art and art trails.Supported festivals and events including partnering on Inland Sea of Sound Festival.

In December we launched the Instagram Public Art challenge, encouraging the public to capture public

art in the region, and tag us on Instagram. #publicart #centralwestnsw @artsoutwest

Promoted 1608 local arts and cultural events through our communications program.

Bathurst Sings and Orange Sings: Choral events showcasing the choirs from each location.Super Critical Mass: vocal workshop in preparation for Cementa 17 (contemporary arts festival).

Workshops in schools throughout the region with Medleko Meropa from South Africa.Winter Arts Networking ran events in 9 centres across the region.

Arts OutWest started an Artist Run Initiative (ARI), with funding from Accessible Arts

Artshed: A collective of artists under one roof, brings together artists with and without a disability for workshops and activities, that culminated in the Natural Spaces and Faces exhibition held in Bathurst in December.
