PLEASE NOTE … Windy Hill's support from the York County Area Agency
on Aging is totally dependent upon the number of meals it serves at
lunchtime. We have 1/2 of our members attend Windy Hill and not stay
for lunch. Windy Hill cannot continue to support all of its programs and
services with the number of meals that we are serving each day. WE NEED
MORE MEMBERS TO STAY FOR LUNCH!!!!
Therefore, we have designed a new incentive to encourage lunch
participation. Pay 50 cents and sign your name on a sheet. Names will be
drawn from current active member list each day. If your name is pulled,
and you were present that day and signed your name, you win the $. The
money will accumulate as the pot grows. However, only members who
stay for lunch will be eligible to participate in this new game. Come out
and play our new Name Game AND … SIGN UP FOR LUNCH!
Have lunch at Windy Hill and play our new Lucky Lunch Name Game!

Windy Hill on the Campus has an Endowment Fund with the York County
Community Foundation (YCCF). Heritage Funds with YCCF are
established by nonprofit organizations, and your gift will forever be
used for the organization's well-being as determined by the Windy
Hill Board. Visit www.yccf.org to see how YCCF is helping to create
a vibrant York County.
How to make a gift:
• Through a gift of money via check to the endowment fund
• Through your will, by specifically naming the endowment fund
• Through a life insurance policy, by naming the endowment fund
as beneficiary
• By a gift of real estate to the endowment fund
• By transferring appreciated assets (stocks, bonds, etc.) to the
endowment fund
• Through a charitable gift annuity which will pay you income for life
For those that are fortunate enough to be over age 70 ½, you may have
required minimum distributions that have to be withdrawn each year
from IRA's and 401(k)'s. In lieu of taking the distribution, paying the taxes,
and contributing after-tax dollars, you can transfer IRA/401(k) dollars
directly to the endowment fund and potentially avoid the tax
consequences to you (consult your tax advisor regarding how this applies
to your specific situation).

Windy Hill is currently conducting its annual
appeal for donations. Please keep in mind that
Windy Hill does not charge a membership fee,
but we encourage you to make an annual
donation to the organization. This donation will
help to cover the cost of administrative expenses
to keep Windy Hill operational, and a great place
to socialize; stay fit and get a nutritious meal.
Please consider a donation today. Donors will be
recognized in the newsletter. Appeal cards are
available at the front desk.
Annual Appeal Attention Singles! In follow-up to our “Age of Love” program held in May,
Windy Hill will be holding a “speed dating” event on
Tuesday, June 21, at 1 p.m. This will be an opportunity
for single older adults to get to know other singles in a
safe environment. Refreshments will be served. There
is no cost for the program. Please register on the sign-
up in the reception area.

Spring Grove High School students will be available
on Tuesday, June 14 from 1-3:00 p.m. to provide
assistance on various technology devices, such as
tablets, smart phones, e-readers, etc. Members
must make an appointment in order to meet with a
student. See Nancy to sign-up.
A group is now playing pickleball on Thursdays at 10
a.m. Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines
elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis.
Two, three, or four players use solid paddles
made of wood or composite materials to hit a
perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a
net. If you are interested in trying this sport, just
show up on Thursdays at 10 a.m. You do not need
your own equipment.
Meals on Wheels Volunteers Needed! We are always in need of volunteers for our Meals on Wheels program. Meals are delivered on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays each week. If you are unable to drive, but would be interested in just riding along with
one of our drivers, that would also be very helpful. We only ask for a commitment of once or twice per month. It
takes approximately 2 hours to do the deliveries. Each month we give away a $50 Rutter's gas card to our
volunteers. Please see Laura for more information.

Tech TutorsFree Zumba Demonstration – Tuesday, June 14, 10 a.m. A special demonstration will be
held to showcase our Zumba class. Did you know you can do chair Zumba? This activity is available
for all fitness levels. We invite you to try it! There is no charge for this class.
Volunteer counselors are available on the 2nd
Wednesday and the 4th Mondays from 9-11 a.m.
Counselors will help you understand your Medicare
benefits and services. These counselors are specially
trained to answer questions about Medicare,
Medicaid, Medigap, prescription drugs, preventive
care, and to assist with paperwork. They also have
direct access to State and Federal Medicare
information and resources. Appointments are
required and can be made at the front desk.

In lieu of taking the distribution, paying the taxes,
and contributing after-tax dollars, you can transfer IRA/401(k) dollars
directly to the endowment fund and potentially avoid the tax
consequences to you (consult your tax advisor regarding how this applies
to your specific situation).

recognized in the newsletter. Appeal cards are
available at the front desk.
Annual Appeal Attention Singles! In follow-up to our “Age of Love” program held in May,
