What is ECIA

• Aim: Increasing role creative industries as a driver of the

European economy• Via policy learning • Open platform with policymakers and business support

practitioners (28 partners and 12 countries).

Tasks of ECIA

1) Analyse, benchmark and engage in mutual learning

in areas such as:• Innovation support• Access to finance• Cluster excellence• Spillovers• Demand driven innovation• Internationalization

2) Prepare policy recommendations with concrete masterplans to better support creative industries

Role of the Amsterdam Economic Board (previous AIM)

• Coordinator of a consortium of 6 cities• Administratory role for the Policy Learning Platform• Contact point for the European Commission’s DG

Enterprise• ECIA Website• Produce end documents:

– Roadmap for a future policy for the CI– Policy recommendations for the EC
