WHS Robotics proudly offers RoboCamp, an outreach program that introduces middle and high school students to robotics. Since Whitney High School Robotics was founded in 2002, the club has grown into world-class teams. In its 12 years participating in the FIRST and VEX competi- tions, WHS Robotics has been recognized for excellence in programming, design, and creativity. WHS Robotics has had the honor of representing the LA region in the FIRST and VEX World Championships eight times. In 2012, its LEGO team won the Championship award, its FTC team won the Inspire Award, and its VEX team won the Excellence Award. Having hosted RoboCamp for more than 10 years, WHS Robotics is more than qualified to teach students the fundamentals of robotics. Students will work on the Whitney campus, designing, building, and programming their very own robot for an ex- citing final camp competition. This enables cooperative participation and a hands-on learning experience with the engineering process, mathematical and scientific con- cepts, FIRST core values, and teamwork and leadership skills.

WHS Robotics proudly offers RoboCamp, an outreach program that introduces middle and high school students to robotics.

Since Whitney High School Robotics was founded in

2002, the club has grown into world-class teams.

In its 12 years participating in the FIRST and VEX competi-

tions, WHS Robotics has been recognized for excellence in

programming, design, and creativity. WHS Robotics has had

the honor of representing the LA region in the FIRST and

VEX World Championships eight times. In 2012, its LEGO

team won the Championship award, its FTC team won the

Inspire Award, and its VEX team won the Excellence Award.

Having hosted RoboCamp for more

than 10 years, WHS Robotics is

more than qualified to teach

students the fundamentals

of robotics.

Students will work on the Whitney campus, designing, building, and programming their very own robot for an ex-citing final camp competition. This enables cooperative participation and a hands-on learning experience with the engineering process, mathematical and scientific con-cepts, FIRST core values, and teamwork and leadership skills.

Create unique robots with LEGO robotics kits. In this camp, you will learn the basics of LEGO robotics, as well as how to design, build, and program your very own robot for an exciting mission-based competition. By the end of the week, you will be able to create du-rable robots with flexible attachment mechanisms. You will also learn how to program your robot using the NXT-G platform to complete tasks without human con-trol. No prior experience with robotics is necessary.

Build and program your own metal robot using the VEX Robotics system for an team-based camp compe-tition. You will learn advanced engineering concepts, as well as programming for both autonomous and human-controlled operation. Campers are encouraged to develop their own creative and practical designs, and formulate strategies with their team partners. No prior experience with robotics is needed; this camp will seek to take class-room topics and standards and apply them in a fun, engag-ing, and hands-on way.

Lunch can be provided for an additional $30 with our

lunch plan; otherwise, campers may bring their own

lunch. All campers will be provided with snacks.

If the student has any allergies or special needs, please

note these concerns on the application form.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Campers are to stay on campus during class, un-

less picked up by a parent or guardian. If you pick
