There are many application opportunities on internal and external glass doors and windows in retail and commercial environments, room dividers, partitions in meeting rooms, corridors and seating areas.

Privacy

Window film can be used to transform office environments by providing enhanced privacy in busy communal areas, as well as in hospitals, pharmacies, banks, pubs, airports or laboratory windows and partitions.

Decorative

Using etched window film within sections can make the premises appear larger yet more enclosed. Decorative window films give a contemporary appearance whilst providing functionality and privacy.

Health & SafetyWindow film can also be used to provide markings on glass in the workplace, which conform to health and safety regulations. Horizontal stripes, patterns, logos or shapes can be incorporated to compliment the overall branding within the building.

Glass can be a vulnerable and dangerous material, with the potential to cause serious injury when broken.

3M’s extensive range of safety and security films provide varying degrees of protection from shatter-resistance to bomb blast protection to improve glazing safety within buildings.

ProtectionThe films can be used to protect corporate offices, public and government buildings, transportation infrastructure or hospitals. They are also useful in building with increased occupancy such as sporting and leisure facilities, shopping centres and other public or commercial spaces.

Safety & Security Window Films

Page 11: Window Films Brochure

3M Safety SeriesTransparent weather stable polyester films with a scratch resistant surface and strong acrylic adhesive. The film’s high tensile strength and elongation at break increases resistance of the overall glazing system to impact and pressure. They provide effective protection from injuries to persons, or damage to items caused by fragments of broken glass. In the event of glass breaking, the fragments are retained by the strong acrylic adhesive.

Benefits

• Protects from fragments of broken glass

• Resists smash and grab burglaries

• Reduces fading from UV light

• Abrasion resistant coating to maintain its appearance

• All Safety Films have been tested to EN12600 and/or EN356

Interior FilmsIt is essential that you select the correct sun control film for the appropriate window application. What do you want the film to achieve? Is it to reduce glare, reduce heat, reduce fading, insulate the building, create privacy? The building orientation, shading, glass type, size of pane must all be considered too. Failure to do so can result in major risks to the glass, therefore if you have any questions regarding film choice please consult with our team.
