Adding and reviewing narrative to financial reports is complex
Multiple data sources makes analysis and commentary a manual process
Sensitive data across many people, need for secure access
Difficult to combine the Data (what) with Narrative (who, when, why)
Manual processes due to need for maintaining confidentiality
Challenging to bring subject matter experts into the process
Narrative Storytelling Challenges
Risk around security and versions
No audit, version and data security functionality
Lack of integrated analytic and visualization tools
Disparate systems for internal vs. external reporting
Inability to reuse content across multiple reporting processes

Selling to the Process, Not Just a Service
• Every customer has narrative reporting needs
• Don’t just sell Tax Reporting, Enterprise Planning, Financial Consol or ERP
• Ask the follow on questions
– How do you communicate your financial performance to your stakeholders?
– How many people are involved in the process?
–Where does the data come from?
– How do you satisfy your regulatory reporting?
• Don’t leave “Final Mile” reporting on the table
– If Oracle isn’t selling them narrative reporting, someone else is
– And they may use that as a beach head for future expansion

Tax Reporting Cloud CbC Report XML file output
• Oracle’s Tax Reporting Cloud Service (TRCS) enables customers to collect and assemble the required data for Country-by-Country (CbC) Reporting
– CbC Reporting enables large multinational corporations to provide an annual return detailing key elements of the financial statements by jurisdiction.
– A standardized XML format of the CbC report is required for the exchange of CbCReports between jurisdictions, and in some countries for transmitting the CbC Report to their tax authorities, if mandated domestically.
• EPRCS Management Reporting can retrieve the CbC Report data from the TRCS application and transform it into a CbC Report XML file.– Can also create required format from data loaded into an EPRCS dimensional model

This Just In….
A leading European supplier of branded consumer goods to the grocery, out-of home, specialized retail, pharmacy and bakery sectors selected TRCS & EPRCS to fulfill their Country by Country Reporting requirements
The sales team provided one demo and did a proof of concept (Setting up CBCR in a day). Tough competition by a local vendor that was significantly cheaper. They loved the out-of-the-box Risk Assessment dashboards, the flexibility in reporting and we proofed to them that we are thinking ahead.
–More to come, as they have committed to be a reference

– Possible lower cost but can be inefficient and time consuming due to disparate systems
• Internal – Integrated XBRL reporting
– Integrates XBRL into an organization’s financial close & reporting process
– Enhance existing filing process to seamlessly integrate XBRL in a unified environment
