We are confirming our enrollment numbers for the 2018- 19 SY. It is important for us to have accurate enrollment for each grade level as that decides the number of classes we will need. Please communicate with the office if your child will not be returning to Owen next year by calling Mrs. Her- rick (630) 428-6113 as soon as possible. For returning Owen Owls, guidelines for registration are as follows: Registration packets were sent home in your child’s backpack on April 19th. Very detailed instructions are included for registering your child for the 2018-2019 school year. You may also find instructions online in your Home Access Center (HAC). They can found as you scroll down on that web page. All forms were to Owen on May 1st. The second step is to verify/update your current residency, phone numbers, emergency contacts, etc. for each child as well. CC! Monthly Bus Incentive Each month the students on one of our bus routes is recognized for demonstrating the six pillars of CC! The students have shown re-spect and responsibility while at bus stops, riding the bus, in the hallway during dismissal, lining up in the gym, while loading the bus, and for following the safety expectations.

Congratulations Owls! Over 180 Outstanding Owl of Character tickets were drawn this year. Every Friday five tickets from each grade were pulled and names were announced that morning. The students enjoyed sitting where they wanted at lunch that day!

Congratulations to the following Owl-Standing Owen Owls for earning a Positive Referral since our last newsletter for demonstrating exceptional character. Any staff member may acknowledge a student who exemplifies great character on a regular basis. We encourage you to celebrate this with your child. We recognize each student during morning announcements. They sign our Kids for Character Book and place a personal Owl-Standing Owl of Character on our Kids for Character Tree in the main hallway. Lunch in a Limo! Any student who has earned at least three (3) or more positive referrals will enjoy eating their lunch while riding in a limo with Mrs. Earlenbaugh. We have 11 students who have earned this so far! Permission slips will come home with the students soon.
Dear Owen Families, As the school year winds to a close in a few weeks, I want to thank you for your partnership and support throughout the year. Together we achieved more than we could alone. We’ve enjoyed being part of your child’s journey in his/her growth in learning and character. Each has achieved so much! I also ask that you join me in thanking and sending best wishes to two of our staff members who will start a new journey at the end of the year. Happy retirement to our one-in-a-million music teacher, Mrs. BOOZELL and to our dedicated and student focused teaching assistant, Mrs. ELVERT. On behalf of all the Owen Owls, we congratulate each of our Owls for a great year. We wish you safe journeys and a healthy and enjoyable summer!

REPORT CARD VIEWING ON HOME ACCESS CENTER!
Parents/guardians may view your child’s report card on your home access center (HAC) on June 5th at 2:00 p.m. Directions for printing the report card is located there as well. Be sure to share the grades with your child. They do not receive a hard copy from school.
