TheLSRetailDataDirectortakescareofhigh-speeddataexchange
between different Microsoft Dynamics NAV databases, and other
databasesthatarenotbasedonMicrosoftDynamicsNAV.TheData
Directorwasspecificallydesignedtoincreasethespeedofreplication
overWideAreaNetworks(WAN).Itusesshortertimetosenddata
andrequireslessbandwidththanpreviousgenerations.
Thesefeaturesareespeciallyimportanttouserswhohavedatabases
in different areas or regions, as they save communication costs.

Scheduling
LSRetailhasabuilt-inschedulingmechanismthatcanbeusedtorun
batch jobs. The scheduling mechanism is also used to schedule
transfersofdatabetweenheadofficeandstoreorfromstoretoPOS
terminals.ThesetransferscanbedoneeitherwithReplicatororvia
theLSRetailDataDirector.
TheLSRetailSchedulerisaflexibletoolthatcanoperateaccording
toanumberofparameters.Jobscanbescheduledtorunoncertain
datesandtimesorwithregularintervals.
Live Information
The Transaction Server is used to allow the POS to make online
enquiriestoacentraldatabasewhilerunninginstandalonemode.
ThisgivesthePOSahighlevelofresiliencewhilemaintainingaccess
todatainacentraldatabase.

Web shops are becoming the necessity in today’s retail world, LS
RetailWebIntegration.togetherwithDigitalVantagePointprovide
specific data tables which prepare combinations of possible price
requirementspriortowebshopping.
Forinstance,allcurrentpricecombinationsforacertainitem-taking
into account all current promotions, combinations of promotions
and loyalty information combined with current promotions - are
preparedinseparatedatatables.Thisenablesawebshopapplication
to be fast, accurate, reliable and even personal – depending on
integrated loyalty information provided by a web shopper during
shopping.
Thesystemcanalsodisplayallactiveoffersavailableforthechosen
item,or the chosen item in combinationwith specific loyalty info
(specialwebpromo-code,couponnumber,LoyaltyCardID).Inthis
waythesystemactuallyactsasanadditionalsalesperson–offering
additionalpurchaseoptionstoaweb-customershoppinginaweb
