New times, new trends and new technologies have been the basis or the development o the completely newWorkZone 2008 collection. We aim to be rst with new designs, new colours and new unctions, withoutcompromising on quality.

New colours such as Dark Zone (dark olive/brown), Race Zone (red/black) and other smart nuances whichchallenge established traditions in workwear, have been introduced into the collection. This enables yourcompany to choose exactly the right colour to meet your needs.

Interviews with workers and service personnel have resulted in new designs or smart slim-line, long-sleeved T-shirtstone-in-tone print on the ront or sleeves, smart sweat jackets with zipper and print on the ront, zip-o trousers with extra pockets and integrated knee pockets in Cordura, bib overalls with new improved back elastic or increasedcomort, knee pads in washable material and more. Smart sotshell jackets in windproo and water-resistant materials

with a Work-Tex membrane and hooded jackets in bold new colours represent a tough challenge to the traditionalwork jacket.

Quality has also been improved, or example, the tough canvas weave polyester/cotton mix with Nanonish,which is both water and dirt resistant and has a brushed, breathable reverse. There is also a completelynew high perormance membrane or all winter wear with a windproo actor o WP10000MM andbreathability o MVP10000G.

The modern design o WorkZone workwear gives quality an extra dimension plus many smart and practical details. WorkZone workwear is made rom very

durable abrics with a robust nish, that can withstand any everyday challenge.

Standard workwear

Our standard workwear is made rom 65 % polyester/35 % cotton, 300 g/m2

and is a strong, tough canvas type with a slightly brushed reverse which

makes the abric sot and comortable to wear. The material is Nano-treated

to give an original look and breathability.

Winter wear

Standard winter jackets, Casual Zone winter trousers and vest

100 % nylon Ottoman, 180 g/m2 with Work-Tex membrane. An extemely

wear-resisting, durable and tear-proo nylon, the material has a waterproo

actor o WP10000MM and a breathability o MVP10000G.

Casual pilot jacket

Outer material: 100 % polyester, 280 g/m2 with Cordura reinorcement and

Work-Tex membrane. Trimming material: 200 g/m2.

High Tech winter jacket

94 % polyester / 6 % spandex, 230 g/m with Work-Tex membrane. The material

has a waterproo actor o WP8000MM and a breathability o MVP4000G.

Neon Zone

Fluorescent saety jacket in yellow/orange. 85 % polyester/15 % cotton,

270 g/m2. EN 471 certied, water, oil and dirt resistant.

Nanofnish

WorkZone abrics are treated using nanotechnology, which ensures an original

look and breathability. The treatment leaves an invisible membrane which

improves durability and, at the same time, protects against dirt, wind and weather.

The nano treatment does not provoke allergic reactions, is water-based and

environmentally-riendly.

Water penetration resistance - WP

Water penetration resistance is measured in millimetre water column pressure.

This measurement indicates the degree to which a given material resists water

penetration.

Breathability - MTP

The MTP value indicates the breathability o a membrane.

Cordura

We use 100 % Cordura - 340 g/m2 reinorcements on knee pockets in all our

trouser models. Cordura is a superbly durable material, extremely hard-

wearing and resistant to tears and holes.

CORDURA is:

Ten times more durable than cotton

Three times more durable than standard polyester

It has double the durability o standard nylon

We use 3M Scotchlite refective tape. These tapes exceed the most stringent

saety criteria. They make certain that you are visible, reducing the risk oaccident. As the refective tape is also fexible, you will be seen and still be

comortable.

The upper gure gives the clothing classication and the

EN 343: Bad weather protection

This pictogram shows the degree o protectivity.

The numbers next to the pictogram indicate:

3 = highest protection, 1 = lowest.

y: Resistance to moisture transer (breathability) shows how well

All our materials are Oeko-Tex certied. Oeko-Tex is the worlds leading textilehealth and saety certicate and ensures that the certied textile is not harmul to

the health o the end-user. The Condence in textiles logo is amiliar to most people.

Oeko-Tex is a human-ecological product standard. The textiles are tested or

Work-Tex membrane

The Work-Tex membrane is a component o all WorkZone winter wear. In winter

jackets, vests and trousers, the Work-Tex membrane eectively protects against

the eects o wind and water and at the same time ensures that your skin can

breathe. Workwear with the Work-Tex membrane is particularly suited or work

outdoors that demands physical eort and creates a great deal o body heat.

The Work-Tex membrane makes sure that you dont get cold when working in

an unpredictable, and oten damp, climate.

3M Thinsulate is the latest in insulation technology. The abric is made o synthetic

microbres that are ten times smaller than the ones used in other synthetic

insulation materials. These minute bres absorb more air than other materials.

This means that Thinsulate can achieve the same insulation eect as other

products but with a signicantly thinner layer.

At F. Engel we put quality rst. This means more than just delivering quality goods at the appointed time. We ensure the high product quality alreadyduring product development via our internal quality control system which runs a series o process and random checks. Attention to quality continuesin buying, tests, laboratory and wear tests, sales, logistics and service.

At F. Engel we use the ollowing quality system:

1. Fabric Quality ControlFabrics are controlled or colour, weight and physical properties, in accordance with applicable standards. Durability is tested by aMartindale durability test in which the textile is placed in a machine which subjects it to a pressure o 12kPa whilst it rotates in a circularmotion and is rubbed against a piece o rough material. The resulting gures show how much riction the material can withstand beoreit wears through. The test results or both WorkZone standard workwear and WorkZone Casual Zone show that they can withstand more

than 40,000 Martindales (rubbing movements) at a pressure o 12kPa, which is top-quality or workwear.

2. Process controlWhen starting production, specication and counter tests are compared in order to determine all evaluation points. The ollowingevaluation points are controlled: the abric, model details, size chart and marking. Specications are controlled throughout theproduction process, aults are reported and aulty goods either corrected or destroyed. At rinse/packing stages o production,the nished goods are checked to make sure that they meet specications, aults are reported and aulty goods eithercorrected or destroyed.

3. Goods Reception ControlWhen we receive goods rom our suppliers, we make random control tests to check that goods supplied meet

certain specications. The ollowing points are evaluated: Fabric, model details, size chart and marking. Anyproducts that do not meet specications are reported and urther random tests are made. A ault report isprepared and sent to the supplier or correction in subsequent production.

4. Design and product developmentThe design o WorkZone workwear is under constant development. The aim is to maintain the modern andunctional cut. The design is perected through a series o practical tests and design evaluations that are basedon standards o: quality, unctionality, comort and t. We are developing new products all the time, or manydierent kinds o industries and end-users, and WorkZone quality and unctionality are always our main priority.

Production

At F. Engel we believe that there are many advantages in having our own production acilities. With twowholly-owned actories in Lithuania, we have optimum control o logistics and great fexibility throughoutthe entire production process. These actories employ over 570 seamstresses, all o whom are speciallytrained to produce WorkZone workwear.
