• About 10-15% of the fatalities resulting from crashes in work zones are non-motorists

• Pedestrians• Workers• Bicyclists

• MUTCD – work areas that affect the movement of

pedestrians should provide alternatives.

• ADA – requires that pedestrians with disabilities be

accommodated during construction.
