On Monday 17 October at 09:00 hr. The Congress was opened by officially by five personalities namely:
1- Ir Mr Hilmi Panigoro – Chairman of Indonesian Renewable Energy Society, METI. The Society was WREN partner in actively organizing the Congress in Bali – Malaysia & he was the Chairman of WREC-Indonesia.
2- Dr Herman Damel Ibrahim, Chairman of the Organizing Committee.

3- Professor Ali Sayigh, Chairman of WREN he stressed the importance and appreciation of working with ISESCO in spreading, the use of Renewable Energy in the Islamic Countries and thanks H E Dr Abdulaziz Altwaijri for his continuous support and cooperation in making all Islamic States adopt the use of renewable energy for cleaner environment and specially in support this event in Indonesia.
4- Dr Wardaya Warnika, Director General of New Energy, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, Who gave speech on behalf of the Indonesian Government outlined the importance of Renewable Energy to Indonesia. He added the Government of Indonesia supported this event and his offices passed a low of Feed-in-Tariff of 50% to the use of Biomass. Also by 2012 Indonesia will open the largest Geothermal Energy Plant, capacity 350 MW.
5- Dr Mohammed Saaid Dayer, ISESCO representative highlighted the cooperation between ISESCO and WREN and expressed H E Dr Abdul Aziz Altwaijri good wishes for the success of the Congress.

There were more than 300 papers submitted with registration exceeded 570 participants, 170 from 49 countries and 400 participants from Indonesia. The Congress has several plenary sessions, press conference, 5-parallel sessions and two Panels discussion. The Congress lasted three days. Every day it starts from 8:30 and finishes at 16:00 hr. It hosted a very well organized exhibition with 23 exhibitors.
More than 30-sponsors helped towards the success of the Congress The organization and the running of the Congress in the Bali-Convention Center, which was opened specially for the Congress and all events went very well.

WREN is very grateful to H E Dr Abdul Aziz Altwaijri, Director General of ISESCO for his support in bringing some many Muslim Scientists to benefit and network with other foreign delegates for the benefit of their countries. OurThanks to ISESCO Office in Tehran, Iran and H E Dr Sadri and Dr Dayer in participating in this important meeting.
