A Message from .... Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D. President

As another academic year gets underway, I begin to reflect back on how gifts made by members of the William Peace University community directly impact our students. Our corporate sponsors helped support WPU performing arts programming, guest speakers and lecturers and the visiting student group from Qatar.

Parents and alumni made investments in the University in multiple ways: directly supporting student clubs and orgnaizations, athletics and the William Peace Univer-sity Singers. Faculty and staff made gifts across multiple areas and programs, and several friends helped us make upgrades to our physical campus, resulting in a renovated and expanded student athletic center.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and our students, I thank each of you for your generosity and belief in our students, programs and outcomes. Together we have made great strides in transitioning to a coeducational model, and it is my hope that you will continue to invest in us as we invest in our students.

With Peace,

Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D.President Page 1

The Heritage Society honors alumni and friends of William Peace University who have made provisions in their will or other estate plans for a planned gift that will later benefit the University. Many years ago, the Society was known as the Codicil Club. The Society was re-named in the 1990s as a way to recognize those who have made the ultimate expression of their faith in the institution through their lasting contribution made in support of the mission of William Peace University.

The Senior Class Gift is a legacy of tradition at William Peace University. Since 1872, Peace students have left their mark on the cam-pus. In recent years, senior class members have found a way to create their own lasting legacies -- by purchasing personalized, engraved bricks to be permanently planted along the pathways of the campus. Funds raised through the campaign count toward the class gift.

The Alumni Brick Campaign celebrates our graduates time as students and their memories. Alumni who personalize a brick know this is a wonderful way to celebrate friendships and memories made, to honor and commemorate a loved one, or to simply show love for their alma mater.

Legacy & Perpetuity - William Peace University is grateful for the following endowment gifts that sustain the University and its programs. Endowment funds are important because they provide income the institution can depend on and support undergraduate scholarships, professorships, research awards, library funds and University departments. In short, they build the foundation for everything WPU does.

“Lift the chorus, speed it onward; Let it never cease;Hail to thee, our Alma Mater; Hail, all hail, to Peace!”
