THE STEPS FOR SILVERSTEP 1: Identify who is responsible and project/s or
department/s to focus the pledge on
STEP 2: Inform all relevant personnel in your Local Authority, as well as your suppliers and contractors, of your pledge commitment and of your procurement policy
STEP 3: Specify legal and sustainable timber explicitly in your contracts and for your purchase orders.

INFORMING SUPPLIERSAs you will be aware it is a material condition of this contract for the timber supplied to Falkirk Council to be certified. In addition Falkirk Council has signed up to the WWF What Wood You Choose Campaign where we will be subject to external scrutiny to verify that the timber supplied to us is certified.
In order for us to monitor that the timber supplied to Falkirk Council is certified you must insert your Chain of Custody Certificate Number on all delivery notes and invoices with immediate effect.
Failure to provide delivery notes with your Certificate Number will result in deliveries being rejected at no cost to Falkirk Council.
