Introduction

This report summarizes 20 soil geochemical samples taken on Xstrata Canada Corporations’ Block 3 exploration property between August 26st 2010 and August 27th 2010. Block 3 is one of several properties belonging to Xstratas’ Prince George porphyry exploration project focused on the discovery of a large Cu‐Au porphyry deposit in the Quesnel Terrane of central British Columbia.

The geochemical sampling program consisted of 20 Ah Horizon soil samples collected by Xstrata field personnel S. Monk and D. Duncan. The sampling was supervised by the author, M. Keogh.

A previous airborne magnetic survey was flown by Xstrata over the property in 2007 which identified several circular and irregular shaped magnetic features on the North‐North/West half of the property (see Map 1, Appendix A) as well as a long slender North/West‐South/East trending feature along the central and Southern section of the property.  The current geochemical program consisted of two parallel sample lines across the Northern tip of the elongated magnetic feature (see accompanying maps in Appendix A) in search of a geochemical Cu, Au, Ag or Mo response representative of a buried porphyry deposit.

A summary of expenditures incurred during the exploration program is provided in Appendix B.

Regional Geology

Quesnel Terrane, or Quesnellia (as commonly referred), is an accreted arc Terrane lining the eastern margin of the Intermontane Belt at its tectonic boundary with the Omineca Belt.  The Quesnel Terrane formed in an island arc setting outboard to the ancestral North American continental margin in the Early Jurassic (Panteleyev et al., 1996).  Early Mesozoic, alkalic and calcalkalic island arc magmatism generated many porphyry copper deposits including: Mount Milligan, Mouse Mountain, Mount Polley, Copper Mounain, etc.

The central Quesnel  Terrane, near Prince George, is fault‐bounded to the east by Late Paleozoic meta‐sedimentary, ‐volcanic and ‐plutonic oceanic rocks of the Slide Mountain Accreted Complex Terrane and to the west (forearc) with the Cache Creek Accreted Complex Terrane‐ likely by the Southern extension of the Pinchi fault system (Bailey, 1988).  Quesnel Terrane in this region is composed of Takla group or Nicola group Mesozoic strata consisting of fine clastic sediments overlain by a thick sequence of Late Triassic alkali volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks.  Alkalic and calcalkalic intrusive rocks in this region are sourced from arc episodes of magmatism during the Late Triassic whereas calkalkalic intrusions are sourced from magmatism in the Early Jurassic, Middle Jurassic and mid‐Cretaceous.

Property Description and Access

Block 3 is located approximately 83 km North‐West of the city of Prince George (Figure 1) and consists of  9 contiguous mineral tenures which cover an area of 3619 hectares (Table 1, Figure 2).

Table 1

Access to Block 3 is obtained from the city of Prince George by driving North on Highway 97 from the city of Prince George to Bear Lake. The Davie‐Muskeg FSR should be taken West at Bear Lake. The property is accessed along the Davie‐Muskeg FSR and a network of secondary and tertiary logging roads (visible in Figure 2).

Sample Locations and Methods

One (1) Ah Horizon sample was taken at 20 sample sites.  The samples were collected at approximately 100 m spacing along 2 parallel lines. Sample locations are illustrated in Appendix A (Map 1 and 2).  Samples were taken on optimal sites, is some areas sampling was restricted by swampy ground conditions or recent clear‐cut activity (Ah Horizon) and a sample could not be taken.  An effort was made during this sampling program to target old growth forest and a preserved soil horizon.

UTM (NAD 83) coordinates were recorded by GPS at each sample site and later entered into digital format (Table 2). Where possible, a piece of labeled flagging tape was tied to foliage at sample sites.

Table two (2) summarizes the UTM (NAD 83, Zone 10) locations of the Ah Horizon sample sites.

The Ah samples were collected from the interface between the organic cover layer and the organic soil layer. Usually, a piece of moss was peeled back and the sample was collected by hand or plastic gardening shovel and placed into a labeled Kraft envelope.

Ah samples were shipped via courier to Acme Laboratories in Smithers, BC in rice bags. The samples were prepared using Acme’s standardized SS80 preparation procedure and analyzed with a modified aqua regia digestion to determine ultra low detection limits for 53 elements (Acme Code 1F05).

Table 2

Preparation involved air drying wet or damp samples at 60°C and then sieving to ‐80 mesh.  15 gram sub‐samples were then digested with a modified Aqua Regia soluation of equal parts HCl:HNO3:H2O and analyzed using the Perkin Elmer Elan 6000 or 9000 ICP‐MS.

Acme performed internal QA/QC on the samples (see Certificates) sufficient for the scope of this sampling program.

Discussion of Results

A thematic map of the Cu results (in ppm) is provided in Appendix A( Map 3), was created using MapInfo and Discover software.

Ah horizon Cu results are displayed in a thematic map (Map 3, Appendix A) using 4 cut‐off values: 0‐15 ppm Cu, 15‐30 ppm Cu, 30‐60 ppm Cu and > 60 ppm Cu. The absolute Cu values reported from ACME are reported beside each sample on the map. A table of results for the ore elements Cu, Au, Ag and Mo is provided below in Table 3.

The AH horizon sampling was conducted within a targeted old growth forest with a relatively undisturbed soil horizon.  Sample 5 returned the highest Cu response with a value of 106.45 ppm. This

Page 8: Xstrata Canada Corporation Geochemical Reporton theBlock 3 ...

sample also returned significantly elevated Ag at 1055 ppb. The response returned from this sample is encouraging particularly since the sample was taken from a well preserved soil profile in an old growth forest. This represents a Cu and Ag response expected from the Ah Horizon peripheral to or nearby a buried Cu‐Au porphyry deposit.

Also, two samples (Sample 19 and 20, Table 3) reported significantly elevated gold values (13.7 ppb and 23.2 ppb respectively). There are no associated elevated Cu, Ag or Mo responses from these samples and the cause for this at the time of writing is unknown.

Please refer to Geoscience BC Report 2010‐03: “An Assessment of Soil Geochemical Methods for Detecting Copper‐Gold Porphyry Mineralization through Quaternary Glaciofluvial Sediments at the Kwanika Central Zone, North‐Central British Columbia” for a detailed comparison and evaluation of the Ah Horizon sampling method and responses in Central British Columbia.

Certificates of analysis from Acme are provided in Appendix C.

Plans, Recommendations and Conclusion

It is planned to calculate the response ratios and indexes for ore and pathfinder elements from this survey however at the time of writing this report, this has not yet been completed. It is recommended

Page 9: Xstrata Canada Corporation Geochemical Reporton theBlock 3 ...

by the author to then plot transect histogram profiles of these results along the 2 sample lines for all of the ore elements and other potential porphyry pathfinder elements in order to assist in the planning of future targeting.

The results of this survey indicate anomalous Cu, Ag and Au values present in the Ah Horizon soil profile on parts of Block 3, and the property remains a prospective porphyry target. Due to the fact that the area is largely completely covered in overburden, targeting currently relies heavily on geophysics, geochemistry and drilling. It is recommended to conduct several reconnaissance IP lines across the circular and irregular magnetic features on the North portion of the property and geochemical anomaly targeted in this report, and to then follow up with reconnaissance diamond drilling, or to progress directly towards drilling the same targets, both of which will be considered for 2011.
