Welcome note
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is a great pleasure and an honour to extend to you a warm in-vitation to attend the XXIII edition of the Summer School “Fran-cesco Turco”, to be held September 12 – 14, 2018 at the Grand Hotel et des Palmes, in Palermo, Italy.
The 2018 Edition of the Summer School is jointly organized by the Department of Industrial and Digital Innovation, University of Palermo, and the AIDI association. The Summer School pro-
motes interaction and cooperation among researchers coming from different universities and enhancing, at once, the sense of belonging to the SSD ING-IND/17 (Industrial Systems Engineering).
The special theme of this edition is “Innovative Management: Challenges and opportunities for industrial engineering”. We welcome the opportunity to further expand the ranks of the world’s effective global research by sharing our studies and expertise on your behalf.
The social program highlighting our Sicilian cuisine, unique culture and arts, combined with the breath-taking natural beauty and pre- and post congress meetings and tours will underscore the role of Palermo as one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.
Finally, we would like to thank each of you for attending the Summer School and bringing your expertise and kindness to our gathering and we hope you will take a little extra time to enjoy the spectacular and unique beauty of our region.
With best wishes,
Mario Enea and Giacomo Galante
