Year 3 Learning Grid—Week 11 Reading
Read, read, read…every day at home too. Try to read a
variety of books. You might want to read to a friend, sib-
ling or to an adult.
Read for at least 20 minutes each day. Once complet-
ed, colour in the face.

Grammar (Sentence of the day)
Use the sentence starter worksheet to create compound
sentences. Remember to use your FANBOYS
(conjunctions).
Vocabulary
Character traits: Foolish, curious, cheeky, risk taker, selfish,
smug, confident, boastful
Draw characters with these traits.
Mathematics
At your level in Mathematics
Practise standard and non–standard
place value.
Collect data from your family members.
This could included: What is their favour-
ite colour/fruit/sport etc. Record these in
picture or column graphs.
Comprehension
Look at the attached inference cards. Complete
the inference activity to the corresponding day.
Science
When two items are combined or touching each
other, their particles will transfer energy called heat
between the two items. This is called conduction or
diffusion. The items try to come to equilibrium,
where they have the same temperature. Heat will
flow from the hotter object (with more heat ener-
gy) to the cooler object.

Creative Arts / Physical Education
Complete the ‘Duplication warm-up drawing exer-
cise’ worksheet. Try your very best!
Complete the mindfulness colouring worksheet.

leg and skip around your backyard.
Do 30 minutes of physical activity each day.
