Long ago in a small, far away village, there was place known as the House of 1000 Mirrors. A small, happy little dog learned of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he bounced happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house. He looked through
the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his. He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000 great smiles just as warm and friendly. As he left the House, he thought to himself, "This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often." In this same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the house. He slowly climbed the stairs and hung his head low as he looked into the door. When he saw the 1000 unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled at them and was horrified to see 1000 little dogs growling back at him. As he left, he thought to himself, "That is a horrible place, and I will never go back there again."
All the faces in the world are mirrors. What kind of reflections do you see in the faces of the people you meet?
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galations 6:7
It's worth a thought.

YEAR 6 CANBERRA TRIP Our Year Six students
enjoyed their educational tour of the national capital last week.
They were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. They visited Parliament House, Royal Mint, Museum of Democracy in Old Parliament House, Questacon, National Capital Exhibition, Australian Electoral Education Offices, the National Museum, National War Memorial and the Australian Institute of Sport.
The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $30 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.
WOODWORKING MASTERCLASS
Students in Year 5A have embarked on a series of Masterclass Sessions that are designed to teach them

about life in the real world. Many students struggle with accomplishing simple tasks such as basic carpentry skills, cleaning, cooking, socialising and learning other life-skills. As part of our learning, the students were privileged to work with a master wood craftsman who hails from the beautiful state of Tasmania that is blessed with an abundance of Huon Pine timber and traditional wood craftsman
The VALUE for Week 1 of Term 4 will be:
Humility is accepting that you are not always the most important person and that there is always something more to learn. People who are humble do not draw attention to themselves. Neither do
they try to destroy others with their words. Humble people also do not put themselves down. “The measure of a truly great man is the courtesy with which he treats lesser men.” Anonymous
“Don’t be selfish. Don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3,4
including boatbuilders. Mr Clark demonstrated some basic skills of how to use the different saws for different purposes and appropriate as well as safe cutting of timbers. The students were amazed at seeing the impressive tools on display and have begun making their own name tag using timber off cuts. They were very excited to be given a master class at our impressive wood workshop and cannot wait to complete their mini projects. Thanks Mr Clark!

Jesus’s Life by Tam Luu 1L
Jesus is the Son of God.God sent an angel to tell Mary she was having a baby and name him Jesus because Jesus is God’s
Son.Baby Jesus was born in a farm in Bethlehem.
Mary and Joseph were sleeping with Baby Jesus.
Jesus went to a wedding with his mother, Mary and his disciples.Mary heard the servants say, “There is no more wine. What can we do?”
Mary told the servants, “Do what Jesus tells you to do.”Jesus said , Fill up six jars with water. Then take a cup of water from the jars and give it to your
master. When they did this, they saw wine.
The master said, 'It’s wine! This is a miracle!”
Jesus told his three friends, “I am sleeping now.” The storm came. Now Jesus is not sleeping. Jesus told the storm to go away.
Jesus saved the earth.
My Secret Power by Jordin Hernandez 2Z
Some people wish they could have superpowers! Maybe it’s flying or being invisible or even be the strongest or fastest person in the world! All these powers would be really cool to have! But they are not as cool as my special
super power…. It’s the greatest power in the whole wide world! Do you want to know what it is? Well keep reading along.
My special power has got to do with the Ten Commandments.
1. You shall have no other gods but me2. Don’t worship idols3. You shall not say God’s name in vain4. Keep the Sabbath day holy5. Honour your father and mother6. Do not murder7. Be true to your husband and wife8. Do not steal9. Love your neighbour as your self10. You shall not covet
God gave us these commandments so we can know what’s right and what’s wrong and to know how to follow Him.
Do you want to know where my power is found? It is found in the greatest book ever… the Bible! I am about to say what my secret power is. Can you guess? You got it – It’s following Jesus!
My power may not make you the fastest or the strongest person in the world but it gives you the fruits of the Spirit…..Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control and that’s the
best power ever!

My Secret Power by Hans Loli-Pinono 2J
I don’t have super power like the common super heroes we know. Super man can fly. Flash has speed. Captain Marvel has energy blasts coming through her hands.
Aquaman speaks with animals and commands the sea. These are just a few of my favourite characters. But they are only fiction.
I am not a superhero but I have a super power which is prayer.Ever since I can remember my parents taught me about people in the Bible that prayed and how God answered
them. My favourite Bible story is about Daniel and the lion’s den because he prayed and God helped him.
In the Bible it says if any man lacks wisdom let him ask God (James 1:5).My mum explained that it means that if we are confused about something in life then we need to ask God but I have learnt that we can pray about anything even if we are scared, happy or frightened. We can talk to God at
any time.
When I was three years old, I woke up in the middle of the night and my sister was sleeping. I didn’t know that my Mum had dropped off my dad to work so I went to look for her and I only saw my mum’s friend sleeping with
her baby so I got scared and I ran to my room. So I said a prayer and I got a good feeling that my mum would come back soon and she did. I know God answered my prayer that night.
That is why prayer is my secret power.
The Bible – My Secret Power by Caitlyn Ho 4B
When was the last time you sat down with your Bible and just spent some time with God? This morning? Last week? Never?
Where can you go to find strength when you feel weak? The Bible says we will find God when we seek Him with all of our heart.
What is the Bible? The Bible is a light that helps us find the way in this dark and sad world of sin.
The Bible is also a long love letter written to us from God.There are stories and verses to brighten up our day, whether we’re having a good or bad day.
A house without a foundation is unstable and eventually, it will start to crack and crumble. In the same way the Bible is my secret power, which I build my foundation on.
I will be like the wise man, who built his house upon a rock.Without the Bible there is no foundation for me to build my heart on and I will slowly crumble like the foolish
guy who built his house on the sand.
The Bible has changed my life. When I hear the word Bible, I instantly think about comfort and peace.
I hope my explanation of the Bible blesses others.

The Bible – My Secret Power by Varnika Satharapu 5A
The Bible is a powerful book filled with powerful stories. It has given me a new path in my life. The Bible has taught me many things and it inspires me to live my life in a way which I will never regret.
The Bible teaches me to love and respect others and I am grateful that our school follows the same values.
In the Bible, my favourite character is David from David and Goliath. I like him for many reasons. Firstly, because he wrote the book of Psalms, then he fought the giant and he was always faithful to God.
David teaches me to be brave and know that God is with us. He also teaches me to be humble. When David defeated Goliath, he gave the credit to God because David knew he couldn’t have done it without him.
Not many kings remained faithful to God after many years of ruling. Many get caught up in their own fame and popularity to even consider God as part of their lives.
David, though has always remained faithful to God.
No matter how big your success is or how tempted you are to give yourself credit, never forget that you couldn’t have done it without God. This is what David taught me.
The Bible – My Secret Power by James Christian 6H
Job was the perfect man. There was no man on earth like Job. God blessed him with sons and daughters, great possessions, much land and a very great household.
God called Job “the greatest of the men in the east”.We can say that God blessed Job but this was not because Job had anything good in himself. Instead Job
lived according to the Word of God, the power of God.The Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper that
any two edged sword (Hebrews 4:12)Because Job lived by this Word, he had great power to overcome evil and to say ‘the Lord gave and the Lord
takes away: blessed be the name of the Lord.’
Despite all the atrocities fallen on Job, he continued to live by a secret power which is the Word of God. Even when Job lost everything including his health, his family, his land and his wealth, there was one thing he did
not lose – faith.Job had unquenchable faith in the power of God.
Today we can also be powerful beings. To do this we need to live by the Word of God which is the Bible. Only then can we live morally upright lives even when there is bad around us.
I truly say this is my secret power. My faith is in the Word of God, the Bible. When things do not go according to plan, the Word of God is able to make me strong so that I can say,
‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’(Philippians 4:13)
