This is a profile of a
“friend”. You can see
lots of information
about this person
because they have
given you
permission.
This is a profile of
someone you are
not friends with.
You are only able to
see their profile
photo (small square)
and cover photo
(rectangle banner).

Select the intended audience of your post
(text, photo, video) by clicking the arrow in
this blue button. You can select everyone =
Public, or Friends=people whom you have
connected with as Friends on Facebook, a
list you had created (such as "library
coworkers" or "close friends"), or a Custom
option.
If you select Custom in "Who Should See
This Post?" you have the option of
selecting individuals to share with, or
specifically not share with. Start typing a
person's name, and when prompted,
select it from the list.

We’ll go over Privacy Settings in detail in another class. While we hear that our information is available
to “everyone” “out there”, the reality is that you have a lot of control over who sees what you post, as
well as who can see what other people post about you, or images of you.
