Your
Memory
Project
For the next 6
weeks, you will
be creating a
memory book of
your time at
Myland,
particularly your
time in Year 6.
The focus for
each day is
outlined on this
timetable and
each day will be
split into 3 parts,
just like the
school day…(see
next slide).
Don’t forget, other daily activities, such as…
- Learn a new word of the day
- Play on Times Tables Rock Stars
- Analyse a sentence of the day using SPaG knowledge (choose a sentence from your book)
- Reading – create VIPERS questions based on your reading book (test your family!)
…could be included and could be added in to any of the 3 time slots if you find yourself with some extra time.
Part 1 (Before break time): Arithmetic skills revision and practice (make your own questions – 1 of each skill - based on the
next slides) and then think about the ‘memory’ focus for the day. Plan your memory book page including any of the details
given on the daily slide (imagine this is like your workbook at school and you are going to produce a topic page).
Part 2 (Between your break and lunch): Play Countdown – both letters and numbers - and then produce a beautiful page for
your memory book. This can be one on any paper that you have – be creative about how you can make this into a book!
Part 3 (After lunch for the afternoon): Read independently then write a short script for sharing your memory with an
audience. Share your memory book page (using your description/script) with someone at home or a friend over the phone.

Day 1:
Produce the front
cover, back cover and
contents page for
your topic book.
There are examples
on the next slide but
you can choose how
it looks. The original
class photo can be
found on the website
or if you would like
to use one of yourself
in your school
uniform, that would
be great too. If you
don’t have a photo,
you could draw your
self portrait. The
contents page needs
28 rows and 2
columns in the table.
Day 2:
Key questions to
think about and
include on your
memory page:
Did you have a
buddy?
What was their
name?
How did you
support them?
How have you
helped younger
children around
the school?
Write them a
short letter to
say goodbye and
good luck for the
rest of their time
at Myland.
As this is the first page in your memory book, you
may want to think about a theme you want to use
for titles, borders and presentation. Think about
how you produced your topic books at school.
