In times of innovative CAD / CAM production, a previously un-
tapped potential for success in the laboratory is to be found at
the interface between the implant and framework of high-class
dentures. Until now, conventional system-dependent abutments
have been used, but these are expensive to buy and time-con-
suming to work with. In-depth WIELAND lab tests with the
ZENOTEC CAD/CAM system have now given rise to a new and
impressive solution, ZENOTEC titanium bases, which are
suitablefor many leading implant systems and which enable
highly aesthetic abutments with emergence profiles which
perfectly match the gingiva to be made in the shortest possible
time.
CAD / CAM zirconium oxide frameworks like this have never
been so affordable. The Fraunhofer Institute (Germany) for Me-
chanics of Materials IWM has tested the titanium base system
consisting of scan abutment, titanium base, lab screw and fixing
screw for action of force and durability and given it an unquali-
fied positive evaluation.

Together with the 3Shape AbutmentDesigner™ and ZENOTEC Cad ImplantDesigner
software applications, ZENOTEC supports the manufacture of customised abutments
for major implant systems. To this end, the titanium base system offers the following
components: scan abutments in four diameters, titanium bases to match each respec-
tive implant system, a lab screw for the model and the final fixing screw for insertion.
ZENOTEC provides an intelligent basis for implant-borne dentures
Since the scan abutments have been reduced to just four sizes, the software can identify
the axial direction of the implant and the position of the anti-locking grooves. Suitable
abutment design software applications make it an easy and fast matter to design the
individual abutment once the model has been scanned. The emergence profile can be
modelled to match the situation of the gingiva. The considerably improved red-white
aesthetics obtained in this way can be further refined by customising with WIELAND
ZENOTEC Color Zr. Both abutment and superstructure can be designed in a single pro-
cess and milled together within a single milling job.
The ZENOTEC titanium bases are therefore a further step towards process integrated
CAD/CAM fabrication of highly aesthetic and equally economical prosthetics in the
