THE Summer Vacatipn of High Court of Kenya, other than in the Coast Province, shall commence on 1st August, 2007, and terminate on 15th September, 2007, both days inclusive.

NOTICE is hereby given to the general public that pursuant to the Kenya Communications Act, 1998 and Kenya Communications Regulations, 2001, PCK, a body corporate established by the Postal Corporation of Kenya Act No.3 of 1998, has applied to the Communications Commission of Kenya, for approval to revise its tariffs in respect of certain postal services, namely; letters between 21gms and 100gms and Private Letterboxes for Corporate Special Groups, as shown below:

According to PCK, the proposed tariff structure is reflective of the cost of providing postal services and meeting Universal Service Obligation (USO). Under USO, PCK is required to offer basic postal services to all customers within Kenya including remote parts of the country. According to PCK, USO entails additional investment in terms of network and fleet expansion. Further, PCK cites increased cost of fuel and maintenance of fleet as well as increase in overall cost of operatiOns. In this respect, PCK proposes to make the necessary adjustments to take account of these. The review, however, will not affect the basic letter (up to 20gms) which is considered as social mail.

The proposed review of tariffs is likely to affect the public, local authorities, companies, persons or bodies of persons within the Republic of Kenya.

Any person or local authority, company or body of persons desirous of making any representation on or objection to the proposed new tariffs must do so by a letter addressed to The Director-General, Communications Commission of Kenya, Waiyaki Way, P.O. NOTICE, is given pursuant to the provision of Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38) of the laws of Kenya, by Messrs. Atomic Garage, Kirinyaga Road, of P.O. THE following notes are for the guidance of persons submitting "copy" for

inclusion in the Kenya Gazette. Supplement, etc.:

(I) The Kenya Gazette contains notices of a general nature which do not affect legislation. They are, therefore. submitted to the Government Printer directly.

(2) Legislative Supplement contains Rules and Regulations which are issued by the central Government. Because of this they must be submitted to the Government Printer through the office of the Attorney-General.

(3) Bill Supplement'contains Bills which are for introduction in the National Assembly.

(4) Act Supplement contains Acts passed by the National Assembly.

All "copy" submitted for publication shoOld be prepared on one side of an A4 sheet no matter how small the notice is, each page being numbered. and should be typewritten with double spacing. Copy should he clear, legible and contain no alterations.

Particular attention should be paid to the following points:

(i) Signature must be supported by rubber-stamping or typing the name of the signatory in capital letters.

(ii) Dates must be correct and filled in where necessary.

(iii) Care should he taken to ensure that all headings to notices and references to - legislation are up to date and conform with the Revised Edition of the

Laws of Kenya.

"D 34. (I) Communications for the Kenya Gazette should reach the Govern-ment Printer not later than 9 a.m. on Friday of the week before publication is desired. The Government Printer will not publish any communication received after that hour until the next subsequent issue of the Gazette.
