Oily Cart, well-known for brilliant and originaltheatre for children, are back at macrobert with apromenade show especially for 3-6 year olds, theirfamilies and friends, written by Tim Webb. We celebrate Chinese New Year, the mostimportant of the Chinese holidays, with greatmusic from the Filip Kimho Duo and Lion Dancingfrom the Hong Lok Lion Dance Troupe. Possiblythe world's only duo with the unique combinationof the traditional Chinese dulcimer (Yangchʼin) anda soprano saxophone, Filip Kimho Duo's debutalbum Runaway Horses has received high acclaimby music critics and wowed audiences in bothChina and Western countries. Established by SifuSe Kan Chan in 2001 to promote Chinese culture,Glasgow based Hong Lok Dragon and LionDancing Troupe is led by artists who have workedwith some of the world's leading figures in LionDancing. They compete in competitions acrossthe world and perform extensively in Scotland.

Reel Fear, a site-specific show, is an exploration of the groupʼs desire to investigate their darkerside, the concept of doppelgänger, alter egos and fear. This collaborative piece uses film, music, sound effects, dance andphysical theatre to stimulate the senses in order to evoke these feelings to the audience. Besides raising questions about realfear versus irrational fear, it is also a reflection on the reasons why we get so much pleasure from watching horror films inorder to instil fear.Friday 4 - Saturday 5 March 6.00pm

Driven creatively by the group, the show will also give theyoung dancers the opportunity to analyse their own dreams: how these change throughout certain points in their life and whatfactors trigger those changes.

TheatreBassett (Part of National Theatre Connections 2011)macrobert Young CompanyThe citizenship class at Wootton Bassett School and the supply teacher have gone a bit nuts, doing a runner and lockingthe pupils in. Thatʼs bad enough, but tensions are higher today than normal; a day when only yards from their confinementa repatriation of fallen British soldiers is happening along the high street - as it has over a hundred times before through thisquiet Wiltshire town. And this one is more personal than most. Bassett is a pacy, funny and exhausting look at young peoplewho are starting to ask questions about these conflicts, their country and themselves.

This interactive matinee provides audiences witha unique insight into the creative process behinddance performances. Join in as Scottish DanceTheatreʼs artistic and technical team work alongsidethe dancers to explore how dance theatre is madeusing lights, costumes, props and excerpts ofcurrent works. Especially created for everyoneinterested in learning more about dance, SDTInteractive allows the audience to ask questionsthroughout the session. A night to remember, celebrate and pay tribute to Eilidh Brown - a beautifulgirl who must never be forgotten. Get ready for an exceptional eveningbringing together some of Scotlandʼs finest talent, including headlinersJon Fratelli (The Fratellis and Codeine Velvet Club) and Billy Boyd (LordOf The Rings), alongside Mark Cox and Jane McGarry of Still Game, withtheir very own brand of humour. A bunch of other well-known faces willguarantee an evening full of entertainment, all doing their best to raisemoney for The Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund, set up by Eilidhʼs family in hermemory and helping young people suffering from cancer. The family nowhope to raise enough money to buy or build respite accommodation in theStirling area for families touched by cancer, and you can do your bit withbuying a ticket to join us for this one-off celebration, closed by a free afterparty with DJs in the macrobert foyer.

Safe Drive Stay AliveYoung inexperienced motorists are at the highest risk of serious roadaccidents. Safe Drive Stay Alive is a hard-hitting road show aimed atsteering school children away from taking risks behind the wheel in aneffort to persuade teens to be careful. The event includes accounts fromreal-life victims as well as staff from the emergency services and NHSwho give the audience a fact-based account of what part they play inserious road collisions. A free but ticketed event, so please get yourtickets in advance.

Forth Valley Schools DanceCompetitionMore than 500 pupils from across Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshirewill take to the stage to compete in the fourth annual Forth Valley SchoolsDance Competition, with the junior dancers (S1-S3) dazzling audiencesand judges with their creative choreography on 14 March, and the seniordancers (S4-S6) setting the stage alight with their polished performanceson 15 March. A Night in ScotlandThe Alexander Brothers, Alistair McDonald and The Graham Laurie Orchestra

Combining traditional Scottish music, folk and jazz, light classical andmusic from film and television - this night with a spectacular line up hasit all. The Alexander Brothers, who recently celebrated 52 years in showbusiness, have a long line of accolades to their name, from co-hostingproductions of the London Palladium Show with Shirley Bassey in 1967to their records outselling the Beatles in Scotland in the early 60s. Havingtoured all over the world Alistair MacDonald, a well-known folk singingjazz banjo/guitar player, is probably best known for his recording of TheBarras and The Massacre of Glencoe. The Graham Laurie PaisleyAccordion Orchestra are undisputed UK accordion champions for thepast 15 years, a must hear twisting traditional Scottish music with lightclassical music.
