HOW TO BID

Below are instructions for bidding at the Silent Auction, November 15-17, 2012 in Hollywood, FL.

» Print bidder name and phone numbers where the bidder can be contacted on Saturday or Sunday, November 17th or 18th. Must be LEGIBLE in order to be valid. Illegible bids will be disqualified.

» Every item will have a “Minimum Opening Bid” and a “Minimum Bid Increment.” Every bid must meet the published criteria or be disqualified. The bid increment will be noted on the form.

» Certificates must be used as stipulated and copies are available for review at the Silent Auction display area. These certificates indicate any special blackouts or restrictions. While every effort will be made to include all restrictions and blackout dates in the catalog information, bidders are encouraged to review the copy of the certificate before bidding.

» Bidding on an item authorizes the ACP Foundation to release your contact information to the donor of the item on which you bid.

» During the Silent Auction Finale on Saturday evening during the Dinner & Social, the Silent Auction committee will vote by proxy.

IF YOU WIN

» High bidder names will be displayed on Sunday at 9:00 am at the registration desk. Winners are encouraged to pay for and collect their items at that time.

» High bidders will be notified by phone at the number listed on the bidding sheet in addition to being posted at the Congress.

» Payment arrangements for items unclaimed by Sunday at 12PM must be made with ACPF staff, either onsite or by calling 510.346.6800 ext. 102. If payment arrangements have not been made in a timely fashion, the next highest bidder will be awarded the opportunity to claim the item.

» A winning bidder is responsible for making arrangements to transport or take possession of the auctioned item. Leasing, shipping, and/or installation information is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder.

» Any costs incurred by ACPF in delivering or shipping an auctioned item will become the responsibility of the winning bidder to pay.

YOU ALSO NEED TO KNOW

» Note any restrictions listed for each auction item.

» Please bid responsibly and be respectful of other bidders.

» Bid sales are final – no exchanges or refunds.

» Items must be paid for in U.S. funds by cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.

» The donor determines values set for all items and provides all descriptions. Tax information will be mailed to all winning bidders following the ACP Congress.

OTHER DISCLAIMERS

ACPF reserves the right to restrict presentation of items donated for the event as space considerations and hotel regulations permit.

Donors will assign the Fair Market Value (FMV) of the item, opening bid, and appropriate incremental bid, to be published by ACPF. Donors acknowledge and will assist in compliance with all ACCME requirements (including signing of a letter of agreement, as deemed necessary).

Donor will provide contact information which ACPF can distribute to the winning bidder to claim the auctioned prize.

The receipt that the ACPF issues to the successful bidder at the time of payment for the item will reflect both the amount paid and the donor’s estimated fair market value of the item. For contributions of inventory, the deduction will be limited to the donor’s cost of the item. For professional services contributed to ACPF Silent Auction, a contribution deduction is never allowed for donation of services - whether as an auction item or for services performed directly for a charity - by federal / state regulations.

All donors and successful bidders need to consult with their tax accountants to determine the amount of deduction they are eligible to receive on their tax returns. ACPF assumes no responsibility in establishing tax deduction values related to the Silent Auction.

A charitable contribution to the ACPF occurs only if the amount paid for the item exceeds its declared fair market value.

Donors of property to be auctioned may have a requirement to file Form 8283, Noncash Charitable Contributions, with their tax return to report details of the gift. Individuals, partnerships, and corporations must file Form 8283 if the amount of their deduction for all noncash gifts is more than $500. Any required reductions from fair market value are applied first in order to determine the amount of the deduction. Regular C corporations, other than personal service corporations and closely held corporations, must file Form 8283 only if the amount claimed as a deduction is over $5,000.

Value: $485 Minimum Bid: $225Donated By: Carmel Valley Ranch

The RPVI ExamSim CD utilizes a patented Intelligent Analysis algorithm to determine the user’s level of preparedness for their credentialing board exam. In addition to detailing their areas of weakness, the program provides a breakdown of score by topic and subtopic so the physician can target those areas in their final preparation. Information is captured with each keystroke during the practice exams allowing the user to review their test-taking habits (i.e. how they are changing answers, what their score would have been if they had not changed their answers, time per topic, question types they get wrong, and how they performed relative to cardinal test-taking rules). Additionally, there is a review section which gives thorough explanations to ensure that the participant fully understands the rationale of the question. The University of Cincinnati designates this activity for a maximum of 24 AMA/PRA Category 1 credits(s)™.

Name of the artist: Yuri O. Skorupsky, Work: Oil On Canvas, Size: 20x24, Name of the Work: California surf.

We are pleased to present the work of Yuri Skorupski, a renowned Ukrainian artist who now resides and works in Chicago, and is of established reputation among colleagues and collectors. Yuri is an Honorary Member of the Ukrainian National Union of Arts, Oil Painters of America, Chicago Artists’ Coalition, and America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals. His works are displayed at museums and galleries around the world. His style of masterfully layered “impasto-chiaroscuro” is stunning in its visual depth. His skill and imaginative flair are recognized world-wide and he is considered to be one of the best palette knife painters today, which earned him a title “Master of the Palette Knife”.

“The most important feature of a great painting is the careful choice of complex mixture and depth of colors to create panchromatic integrity in a cohesive work, to capture the mood and magic of the moment,” says Yuri, revealing the artist’s awe of nature, artistic experience, passion and insight. In this way, he believes, the central theme of his paintings bursts life enhanced by the subtle interplay of background, contrasting elements, and luminous highlights.

During his frequent travels across America, Yuri discovered an inexhaustible source of inspiration in the American Southwest. His excitement in this mystical land compels Yuri to create bold new paintings that express his feelings for the majesty of our country. Yuri’s works have been praised in multiple international publications and represented in many fine galleries throughout the world, and his heavy impasto paintings have been considered some of the finest examples of color seen today.
