We challenge you to 30 days of feedback.
Here are 30 ideas to help you get better at giving and receiving feedback. Take
the challenge yourself, or challenge others for a little competition!
Day 1
Set a calendar reminder to share a daily act of
appreciation.
Day 2
Give a hand-written note of thanks. Make it specific.
Day 3
Share positive feedback with an employee.
Make sure you share the impact the employee had.
Day 4
Request feedback by asking:
What is one thing I’m doing to support you that works well?

Day 5
Request feedback by asking:
What could I start or stop doing to help you achieve your goals?
Day 6
Reflect on a recent feedback conversation.
What went well? What didn’t? What can you do differently next
time? Write it down.
Ask a mentor or colleague about their biggest feedback
challenge and how they handled it.
Day 7
Day 8
Put (washable) pen on your face before a team meeting.
See if anyone on your team is willing to tell you.
Day 9
Surprise someone with a gift card for their favorite
store/coffee shop with a note saying why they deserve it.
Day 10
Arrange for your manager’s manager to stop by and say “thank you” to an employee who’s done excellent work.

Feature an employee’s success in a work newsletter or
internal email.
Day 12
Get employees to submit things they appreciate about each of their team members,
print them out and post them in everyone’s cubicle.
Day 13
Pay feedback forward:
Find a funny object (stuffed animal, bobblehead, etc.) and give it to an employee with a note recognizing an achievement. Encourage them
to pay it forward.
Day 14
Pass on the praise:
Heard something great about someone? Tell them or email
them and copy their managers/supervisors.
Day 15
Tell a manager one thing you’ve
learned from them.
Day 16
Invite an employee to discuss a recent challenging project.
Ask them what they think didn’t go well. Ask open-ended
questions. Then listen. Don’t talk.
Day 17
Invite an employee to discuss a recent successful project.
Ask them why they think it was successful. Ask open-ended
questions. Then listen. Don’t talk.
Day 18
Start a conversation by asking an open-ended question about
how that individual likes to receive feedback.
Day 19
Invite your team out to lunch and talk shop (i.e., what’s working well, what isn’t).
Day 20
Give a shout-out to another team:
Encourage your team acknowledge to another department or team for a
job well done.

When someone has put in longer hours at work to get a job done, send a letter home
to the family to show your appreciation.

Say hello to each member of your team and ask how

Recognize an individual for reinforcing your

Set up a brag wall to celebrate achievements – both to
