Where We Are American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) is the largest non-prot ethnicmedical organization in the United States. It represents the interests of over 60,000 practicingphysicians and 20,000 medical students, residents, and fellows of Indian origin in the United States.It also serves as an umbrella organization for over 160 component associations situated in everystate. AAPI members have been practicing in inner city medically underserved locations, ruralcommunities around the country and urban areas. Every one in seven patients in the country isseen by an Indian physician. Indian physicians form an impressive number in academics renownedfor teaching excellence, cutting edge research and patient care.

National Reach Through Component ChaptersAAPI serves as an umbrella organization for a network of over 160 component chapters; alumni,state and regional chapter associations, and specialty organizations. Tese Associations arelocated in 12 regions across the United States, each with a Regional Director on the AAPIExecutive Committee who is responsible for communication and coordination of local eventsand activities.
Who We WereAAPI was founded in the midst of challenges that physicians of Indian Origin faced due to culturalbarriers and bias against international medical graduates. Tose barriers created obstacles forimmigration and licensing opportunities. In 1982 a group of concerned medical professionalsfounded the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin with a simple goal to work for alevel playing eld for the international medical graduates.
oday, the organization is a dynamic body, spearheading legislative agendas and inuencing theadvancement of medical care in the US and globally through advocating for increasing physicianwork force, participating in national health initiatives such as obesity prevention and investing inglobal health education.

Te 2014 AAPI Convention will offer 10-12 hours o CME activity. In a para-digm shif, the convention will explore a Symposium and/or Workshop or-mat that will ocus on current issues in clinical management o chronic dis-ease conditions to include evidence-based guidelines, latest therapies, and hottopics. We will also include 1-2 sessions that will count or Ethics CME thatcan ulll mandatory medical licensure renewal requirements in most states.

Applications will not be processed nor space assigned without receipt of paymentin full. You are expected to be ready on Wednesday, June 23 rd at 6:00 PM to move
in and set up your booth. I f you are not present in the exhibit hall during move-intime, you may forfeit your exhibit space, and no refunds will be made. I f you are notavailable during the move-out time, the official decorator will hold your materials,and you must then contact that person. I f you have any questions regarding online

AAPI Charitable Foundation - Te Flagship of the OrganizationTrough the assistance and hard work of several dedicated and distinguishedAAPI Physicians, the AAPI Charitable Foundation was established in 1992. OurFoundation was designed to provide an infrastructure support system for needypatients in India with two main goals: rst goal was to commit their time and
resources to support the clinics for the indigent; and our second goal was tomonitor effectively the clinics progress and be accountable for the overall successof the project.
AAPI-CF oversees 19 clinics in as many states, including Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat,Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, MadhyaPradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, amil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Teclinics vary in size and type with an average of 20,000 patients being treated at theclinic facilities every year. In fact, more than a million patients have received muchneeded medical care in India, thanks to on-site and outreach programs conductedby these 19 medical clinics.www.aapicharitablefoundation.org
