ACT/SAT Boot CampApril 5 -July 15 Spring Session 2020
The ACT/SAT Boot Camp is a personalized ACT and/or SATprep course condensed into twelve weeks. The goal is forstudents to learn all content and skills needed to succeed onthe ACT and/or SAT, reaching their target scores during theJuly test.
April 5 - July 15
Students receive a weekly one-on-one session and attend aweekly group session.
Course content: English usage and rhetorical skills, pre-algebra, elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, algebra2, coordinate geometry, planar geometry, trigonometry,number theory, statistics, probability, reading speed andcomprehension, understanding of scientific charts andgraphs, data analysis and manipulation, writing techniquesand perspective analysis. While the same overall content andskills needed for the tests are taught to every student, eachone-on-one lesson plan is personalized according to thestudent's learning style and collegiate goals.

Susan Joy has a masters of education in instruction, anMBA, and is a certified cognitive skills trainer. She hasrepeatedly achieved perfect scores on the ACT and hasbeen teaching the test for fifteen years. Working with highschool students across all subject areas, Susan is proficientin all content areas of the assessment tests. She relates thematerial to help students comprehend more of what theysee in high school and nurtures the skills students need tobe successful in college. With five years' experiencedesigning international live courses, online courses, andenduring materials in the medical education arena, Susantransfers the hands-on, blended-learning format that issuccessful in adult education to her students'individualized programs.

Most content is taught during group sessions. Individual sessions are used tofurther individualize exam prep, strengthening weaknesses specific to eachstudent. Individual sessions take place Monday - Wednesday.

• Personalized Q&A of course material • Customization of material (to offer more or less intensity) • Study skills (how to take notes, study, and retain information) • Individual discussions on goals and college (what a well-rounded student & competitive application package looks like)
