The Prayer After Communion
“And their eyes were opened and they recognized him” (Luke 24:31). The Church celebrates the Eucharist with eyes opened wide in recognition of Christ her Lord and Bridegroom. The priest introduces the Prayer After Communion as he did the Collect at the beginning of Mass, saying, “Let us pray.” The assembly responds in a brief but intense silent prayer. The priest then prays in the name of all for the fruits of the mystery just celebrated: healing of mind and body, the forgiveness of sins, the protection of God, and strength to go forward in holiness. The people seal the prayer with their Amen. Brief announcements may follow, prepared in advance and made in such a way as to foster the climate of reverence and joy that should characterize the Mass from beginning to end.
In a final greeting, “The Lord be with you,” the priest wishes the people the abiding presence of Christ. The people in turn acknowledge the gift of grace that is his for the service of the Church: “And with your spirit.” The blessing follows. During Lent a Prayer Over the People may precede it; on festive occasions a more solemn formula may be used.

Stewardship and our Confirmation Teens
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops publishes a pamphlet entitled Stewardship and Teenagers. Bishop Baker was part of the committee that developed this pamphlet and encourages those preparing for Confirmation to study it and put it into action. This pamphlet encourages teens to share their time, talent, treasure and Tradition as part of the Baptismal call to be priest, prophet and king.
The teenagers of our parish who are preparing to be confirmed this Spring have begun to do just that. Thirteen young people started working as tutors for children at St. Ann School last Wednesday and did a terrific job. They not only shared their time and talent with the children, but through their example shared their Catholic Tradition of stewardship.
Several others came to our Crafting for Christ activity and learned to make knotted rosaries. Crafting for Christ is open to all parishioners and meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 4:30 - 6:00 PM. We hope to present opportunities for crafting items to help others.
Nineteen of our teens participated in a special Eucharistic Adoration opportunity on Sunday evening.
The Confirmation program asks that each teen participate in at least 10 hours of service at our parish with at least one involving a Spiritual Act of Mercy and at least one involving a Corporal Act of Mercy. Please keep them in your prayers!
Did you know our parish has a group of fifty parishioners who will take time each day to pray for your specific need? Please visit the parish website, click on the Prayer Request
icon and enter the information requested. If you would like to join the AOL Prayer Warriors please contact Rosie Catanach at [email protected], she will be happy to add you to the group. Thank you!

Stewardship
After healing the blind man Jesus sent him on his way. But the man decided to follow Jesus. Being a disciple of Jesus is a choice. We too choose to be grateful, we choose to live generously, and we choose to trust that God will always provide for our needs.

SCRIP is a program where our school sells gift cards from many different companies. You purchase them at face value but the company gives the school a percentage back. It is a Win-Win situation. For just a
few minutes of your time after weekend Masses in the Gathering Space or during the week at the Parish Office you can purchase these gift cards and the school makes money to help with their programs. Please consider using SCRIP whenever you can.
